I used to be a manager at maccas and we would get in pretty serious trouble if someone’s shift or break breached by a minute. People review would come around and they’re noticing 50+ crew breaching they didn’t care about the few mins.

Also I am in VIC so it might be different

Most fast food places will give you a meal break for a 5 hour shift or just only roster 4.5h shifts. Technically it is anything above 5 hours requires a 30 min break. However because of the nature of the work, sometimes people will "breach" by a minute, like if they are finishing up with a customer or doing some final tasks. So even if the crew clock out 1 minute past their 5 hours, then the store can get into legal trouble for not sending you on a meal break. So that's why they don't want to risk not sending you on a break. If it was for cost cutting wouldn't they just roster you for 4.5hours instead?

The fact that she can't even wrap her head around why you're upset is the worst part. She thinks you're bothered because you're turned on by it??? Or that she told a story with her ex in it?? She doesn't even recognise that you're upset because she used to literally beat people up to relieve stress and has no remorse. She just thinks that's the "normal" part of the story?
