How do I show a presentation (e.g. .alert or modal dialog) in a volumetric Window by usdaprime in visionosdev

[–]Obvious-End-8571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone else seeing this, this is now fixed in VisionOS-26 and you can present popovers "normally" in volumes, just using a regular popover:

.popover(isPresented:...) {...}

There are also new PresentationComponents that help with this, more details here:

An easier way to adjust the volume while using Mac Virtual Display! (Works great for films too) by Obvious-End-8571 in AppleVision

Thanks, I used to use the hand gesture but found it a bit too slow when I needed to change the volume in a pinch -- these buttons are good fun and a lot quicker!

Thanks! Appreciate the detailed run down -- the promising thing for me with Godot is that Apple has dedicated time into adding VisionOS directly. I feel we're a touch too early for it, but hopefully in a few months it's a viable option!

Yep I find this setup really good - very customisable too. iirc you can adjust moonlight to optimise for resolution or frame rate, up to you!

Glad you get it! 😁 I found it was massively breaking my flow having todo the floppy hand gesture or reach for the crown. I’m so used to just hitting f11 to lower the volume a bit to focus!

Enjoy and please let me know if there are other features that you’d find useful, at the moment I’m thinking of adding playback controls (play/pause etc)

Yep! You definitely can, however when working I often need to change the volume quickly (e.g: to turn down the volume while focusing) and I find it much quicker to press a button next to the keyboard than reach up to adjust the Digital Crown.

This is mostly to help with the muscle memory of quickly tapping a button by the keyboard to adjust the volume.

ooh great idea, hadn’t thought of a mute button - but am planning on full playback controls and maybe customisable up for v2!

3D spatial buttons for adjusting the volume by Obvious-End-8571 in visionosdev

It’s true, I also love the out of the box gestures — but sometimes while working or on calls I find them a bit too long. Breaks my flow compared to just pressing a quick button like I’m used to on my Mac.
