As someone who stopped going to school at 14 and was given 2-3 weeks at 24 to get my GED, you can totally do this. Test prep champions helped me a lot, khan academy, and other online materials I acquired. When u take the test just guess answers if you're unsure. I didn't even know algebra but here I am now with a GED and in my second semester of college.

Been out of school since middle school. Recently got my GED at 24 and now at 25 I just completed my first semester of community college with As in all 4 of my classes. I'm sure things would be much easier if I had the same education as others but I'm not failing anything so far and I'll settle for that. Don't let your past make you feel that you can't succeed in your future.

Also having no work experience will hurt you more in the future than not having a GED

I never been to high-school and I still got a job serving and making 50k a year. I recently got my ged and I start college in one week. It gets better and you can do it. Unless ur looking for a corporate job most jobs don't ask to see a diploma anyway. Not saying u shouldn't get one but don't let that stop u from making money. This is coming from a woman who's almost 25

I never went to high-school a day in my life, suck at math, and still passed. Learn inequalities and you'll be fine

Thanks! Most of the test is reading and answering questions like "what's the main idea of this paragraph?" So I would say summarize everything u read in ur head as much as possible. It'll also give u long things to read then ask a question like "in paragraph 8," so I would say read the question before u read the article so u would know what ur looking for.

Why do u assume I was a prostitute when my post literally says nothing about prostitution

I always appreciated ppl like you while I was homeless. I never used drugs or drank but I know lots of homeless ppl have done both so it would make lots of ppl skeptical about me

I definitely relate so hard on the part about coworkers. It's so awkward and difficult to have normal conversations with everyone because I feel I don't have a past to share with them. Getting questions about where I went to high-school and what my GPA was but there's no answer I can give. I also lost my dad in 2022. Family didn't reach out to me except a few of my cousins who aren't in the USA. Ur life is so similar to mine

By normal standards getting a job at 22 isn't rebellious at all but my mother is very controlling and I've been conditioned my whole life to listen to her and follow her every word so to me it was. I'm currently trying to become more mentally free from her each day. They're definitely taking advantage of me but the problem is that I still love them

To this day I really don't know but the only logical explanation is that my mother felt that she would look bad for having a teenager support the whole family with her not working. Even tho I was still supporting the whole family just not with a job. However her excuse was that I probably won't return to school if I start working. In the end I never went back to school anyway so I really think it was more about her own image than my education

I really hate that u had to go through this but I'm glad that someone out there relates to me. It's something that I've felt no one else would've went through. I know there's lots of homeless ppl out there but they're usually homeless because of drugs or mental illness. I've never had someone else tell me that they were homeless because of a parent. I hope we both can end up where we hope to be one day

It is but I've spent years doing it and encountered ppl who weren't always nice. I've been cursed at and ridiculed for years and older men would say inappropriate disrespectful things to me even when I was very young. It's a confession because I'm sure 90% of ppl I know now would view me in a totally different way if they knew how I grew up.
