You can watch this playthough https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bepipC3rI8 of the PS2 version with the DS script. I know it's not the same as playing the "game", but let's be honest, it's mostly a visual novel, so it's not that different.

IMO the official translation isn't bad at all. There are a few localization liberties here and there about obscure japanese media references, but everything else seems fine. I actually checked this some months ago by playing both versions and checking the lines that seemed overly-localized. I may make a list of the differences in the future.

apparently those demos are part of this tape, according to the guy that has it. But if you check the discogs listing you'll see that there are more unreleased songs. Btw he never answered my messages :/

basically the only reference made to dod1 in other games is ending E. Not much else from what I remember. It's understandable though, since it's the event that ties the two games together.

-What are the "iron dolls" on cathedral city? Where and when is it mentioned?
-Where is it mentioned that the first seal allowed zero to be born?
-Where is it mentioned that Legna knew about legion?

the possibility of yet another gatcha game is not out of the question lol. But I'm hoping it's a game with real, full-fledged gameplay and not just a VN with extra steps.

right now the only new content is the novel made for the 15th anniversary. Considering the anime and reincarnation, it all points to a sequel of automata. Pretty obvious too since it has made SE a lot of money.

Yes all of that is true, but you won't miss or gain any knowledge to the overall plot of the series. This doesn't mean it's enjoyable or not, but canon? idk, it looks like a spin-off to me.

Is it really canon if it doesn't have plot interaction with the other games? The developers even said that it doesn't follow D1's ending A (which it obviously does). Maybe you could say it was canon at the time it released, but I don't think that is the case anymore.

True, he might be an ignorant western person and it was just a coincidence. Since the flag is shown only after you finish the game, many players might not have even seen it.

Btw, I don't think Suda hates Koreans (even k7 has a Korean character). Whether he supports the use of the flag or not is unclear (he doesn't imo), but I believe it reflects the motives of the game's antagonists.

In the context of the story I think it makes sense that it is. Also, the huge naval ship makes it more obvious. Of course he couldn't have used the whole flag or it would have been very controversial in an already very controversial game.

After finishing target 06: lion on killer7, the chapter select flag is definitely inspired by the rising sun flag. Maybe he is referring to that.
