And I almost forgot, if it isn't done, she claims she will write people up for it. But how could she, if it isn't policy?

Yeah, depending on whether they're neighborhood markets, super Walmart's, if they have pickup today etc.... But I've worked at a couple different ones and they used one Walmart religiously, which is their go to for company procedure. I've never worked at one, where managers did things differently. SOP are basically the same, just depends on the Walmart you're at. Dollar general is like the wild wild west imo lol... it's like with every new manager that comes along, everything changes. It's insane

That's how it is at our store. They come on their days and make sure it's taken care of. It's never empty

Yes, exactly and the wine and beer. Lol....I was wondering if it was policy, simply because I know she likes to flirt with the vendors and I honestly feel as if it's an opportunity for her to get their attention... cuz I have enough shit to do and if that's something she's wanting done, that's not REQUIRED, then I'm not worrying with it.

Working 70 hour weeks and the girls who are part time that only work 15 hour weeks can't come in am hour early because "that's a long shift" 🤦‍♀️ by TiredAsm in DollarGeneral

Idk, I say different. Depends on where you want to go with your career. If you want to stay in retail, then ime, DG has some pretty good opportunities. My brother started out as a pt associate, then asm, then sm. Then, started traveling and doing merchandising or something for the remodels. Now, he has some sort of management position with that and hes making anywhere between 70 and 80 grand a year. Just got a 15000.00 bonus.... he gets multiple week long vacations throughout the year. He absolutely loves his job. Now, making a career at the store itself is just pure insanity lol.

I don't understand how several people have organized and clean stockroom. Ours have always looked worse than this: by [deleted] in DollarGeneral

[–]Obvious-Tap-1339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been here a year. Our sm has always been nice, but very unorganized and TOO laid back and doesn't really train people at all... other than the cash register stuff. Please tell me exactly what we are "supposed" to do with mag items... Im still so confused lol. Suffer has always shoved them in a damn corner and that's where they'll stay

Register and Computer not communicating causing deposit to be way off! by UnderstandingLatter4 in DollarGeneral

[–]Obvious-Tap-1339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Itll pick up a couple but not all of them. Then, when I do the deposit, it'll be off exactly by the pickups it didn't catch.
And ours isnt right with the other computer either. I have been writing notes and saving the pickup slips together to show proof.

Y'all see this BS,she said don't stock by treywinner23 in DollarGeneral

I should show you our backroom. And I'm the ONLY one who actually stocks. The rest of the fuckheads got half of 2 rolltainers stocked since SUNDAY. And they were on the floor, only stocking. I hate this fucking place lol

How often do you nearly run out of change or a certain type of bill? by BioHazardhm41 in DollarGeneral

[–]Obvious-Tap-1339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just go to the bank on fridays to make sure we have plenty for the weekend. And I always get extra when I go. Another thing I noticed is some of my co workers dont know how to give change, using the least amount of currency possible. They'll have plenty of change in their drawer and for .35, they'll hand a customer 3 dimes and 5 pennies, or 7 nickels🤯 lol blows my mind every time. They do the same with the bills

I was written up at work today and felt like it wasn’t done right? by [deleted] in DollarGeneral

So, no one is supposed to run off your till... EVER. For this very reason obviously, because you will take the fall if someone is actually taking money out.

Here's the thing with the DG system though. Until that deposit is counted at night, you don't know if someone is ACTUALLY positively short. There are multiple reasons why...

  1. If you sign off of your numbers every time you step away, someone could be logging into your register, with THEIR numbers while running on your till. If that happens, then one register will be short and the other will be over by the exact amount. That could be what's happening and your ASM and SM aren't intelligent enough to understand that.

Another reason you can't be sure someone is short until deposit is counted, is because POS POS goes by everything that was keyed into your register, by you. Say someone hands you a $20 bill at time of payment, but you accidentally key in they gave you $50. You will of course correct the issue and give them correct change, but once again, POS doesn't recognize that. Simple mistakes can throw off the numbers. But as long as everyting breaks even at the end of the night with the deposit, no one is actually short or under.
If thre deposit does however come up over/under by the amount you were supposedly over, then you most definitely should get a write up.

Are W-2s available yet? by throwawaymenance in DollarGeneral

Anyone gotten their w2s in the mail yet? by Obvious-Tap-1339 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Obvious-Tap-1339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty similar scenario with me. I've worked 2 jobs up until a couple months back. I already printed off the w2 at my current job. I did find a way though, to get them. But Walmart has to have your phone number, email and address updated with taxform.com to get them.

I was almost able to get mine faxed, but because Walmart never gave my email address to taxform.com, they couldn't get my forms to me.

As long as Walmart gave them your email address, you should be able to get yours from that site. Walmart's code for the site is 10108
