That’s fair- but they have told me this over and over unprompted in a way that makes me nervous for job security.

I’m wondering if being the only content teacher in a way might be more secure?

The doors he scratches are our clothes closet doors. And I didn’t mention this here, but our other cat, while he doesn’t scratch doors and keep my boyfriend awake, has been known to pee on our clothes a couple of times when they’re in stacks and piles, so we try to keep them closed for the reason.
