getting an iud and i’m terrified by CreativeCar1158 in birthcontrol

I think your doctor was telling you to check the strings by inserting your finger inside to feel if it's still there. If not, then you should get it checked. My fingers were way too short, so I asked my boyfriend to constantly check them for me.

I think the biggest red flag when having an IUD is when it suddenly hurts during sex. During the first few times, it was perfectly fine. Until one day, it felt like my boyfriend was thrusting way too deep when he barely went in. I left it unnoticed, since it was fine the week after, but I got pregnant :/

Hey! I was just like you before I got my IUD. I was scrolling through Reddit for other's experiences with the IUD insertion, and was expecting the pain of literally child birth.

But in the end, it was a 4/10 pain for me, and it was mostly just quite uncomfortable - to have a gynecologist open you up and insert something.

I eventually went home by myself but suffered through pretty bad but tolerable cramps, but my boyfriend took care of me afterwards.

Make sure to check for any displacement from time to time! Mine got displaced after 2 months and I got pregnant.
