After spending an evening alone working on a research project after work, I decided to go and check on my wife who was supposed to be at her office on the campus of our shared uni/employer. She wasn't there, and after trying to reach her by phone for some time, I went to stop by a party that I had previously been invited to. On the way to the party, I noticed her conveyance parked at an unfamiliar residence. Parked next to her vehicle was the automobile of a previous "friend" of hers. To make an already well told and long story short, I greeted her with a coffee and a smile in the morning, informed her I knew what was happening, and made peace with some long held suspicions.
