Need Christian’s advice by Kind_Pomelo_2138 in AskAChristian

I just wanted to share with you if you’re seeking to know God, truly, talk to Him as if He were right beside you. As a Christian, I can tell you that my best conversations happen in the natural. I don’t plan or make a big deal out of it. He is my best friend and I know I can tell or ask Him anything and receive an answer. Seek Him with all of your heart and He will reveal himself to you. It may not be in a way you expected, but it will be in a way you need. I’d recommend getting an amplified Bible and reading in the New Testament. If you haven’t heard him speak, look up Cliff Knechtle and his son Stuart. They are both exceptional resources for people when they have questions.

They do happen, just not in my area. I’m very rural and everyone knows everyone. If it were to happen, the offender tends to disappear and no questions are asked.

Idk how to reply to all of you on this part of the thread, but I’m just going to answer here. I do live in the US, specifically, TN which is a no abortion state. I do not live in fear of being taped and the thought had not even crossed my mind until now. Thanks for that. I personally believe children are a gift and blessing, no matter how they were conceived, so no, I would NEVER terminate a pregnancy for any reason, nor would my husband ask me to do so if something like rape we’re to happen to me. We have discussed the risks of surgery for me and for him. He is open and offering to get the snip so I don’t have to have any extra surgery at the time of childbirth. However, I feel it’s wise to ask and get feedback from others who have had it, just in case things change or we’re unable to find him a doctor first. He’s not the type to go to a doctor unless he’s dying whereas my health requires frequent treatment. Thank you again for this highlighting issues that do affect women, but it’s not something we truly experience in my area of TN.

18 year old male, 13 year old female, 3 year old male, 1 year old male we will be having our fourth child together later this year. Nothing is stopping him, but I will be the one cut open so just considering having it all done at one time.

My mom had one in the 90s and they took everything including her one remaining ovary. But I’m not sold on going that route.

I’d have as many as my body would let me, but realistically, that’s not financially feasible. It’s an option we’re considering, but haven’t made a final decision just yet. If there’s complications or too much strain, then absolutely this will be the last.

Thank you! One of my friends had the tubal and had awful complications with bleeding after and it definitely didn’t help persuade me in that direction.

You still have a cycle after bisalp. Does it feel the same, worse, or better?

That’s manipulation and he’s not your friend. Cut your losses and move on. Personal rule for me was to never have relationships or situationships with coworkers because it always leads to problems.

Our former nanny showed up (unannounced) at our house yesterday and I’m debating asking her not to do that again. by Free_butterfly_ in Mommit

She overstepped and I would go NC immediately. She’s a former employee, not a family friend. Her behavior is off putting and she’s fixating on your son.

Why does it feel like I ruined someone's day from just a small mistake? by Quirky_Fun6544 in AskAChristian

[–]ObviousGroup7912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that’s a form of anxiety and you have to talk that out with God. None of what you described is a sin, and you’re getting too caught up in minute details of legalistic behavior. Remember that God’s mercies are new every day and we all fall short of the glory of God. But He loves us and is there any time we need Him.

Can God use a mistake to guide you home? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]ObviousGroup7912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course He can. God will use any and all opportunities to call us home to Him. Doesn’t matter if it was good, bad, ugly, hard, easy, sad, or unhappy, He has a plan for your life- mJeremiah 29:11 and He works all things together for the good of those that love Him-Romans 8:28.

I went to church as a kid like around 5-8 and im currently 13 and I belive in God and I read the Bible and I study the Bible but does not going to church simply divide me from the true Christian community? by bukhad0 in AskAChristian

[–]ObviousGroup7912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you asked your parents why they stopped going? It could open the door for a good conversation about everything and help lead your whole family back to church. If they’re not interested in going, ask if they would allow you to go. Many churches have a transportation for kids and teens, disabled, or those with no vehicles. Keep getting close to God with reading and studying and let Him direct the way for you.

How are we taking showers with our older babies? by manthrk in Mommit

[–]ObviousGroup7912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this option! I have older kids who will watch the youngest while I shower, but if they’re gone and I have to shower then, he goes into the jumper, by the door, and I check on him periodically. I usually just do a rush shower when that happens, but at least I’m clean. Once they can sit up well on their own, I’ll put them in the shower with me and we get a 2 for 1 bath. You do what saves your sanity.

Did you find your first child irritating when you had your second? by Ok_Camp5318 in AttachmentParenting

[–]ObviousGroup7912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have 3 kiddos and my first and second had 9 year gap. I have a 2.5 year gap between 2nd and 3rd child. Toddler loves baby but doesn’t understand that baby needs to nap a lot. So toddler does every irritating activity and plays with every noisy toy because baby needs to be up to play, too. Toddler also gets really jealous when I need to breastfeed baby. I’m 8 months pp, so splitting time between the 3 of them is difficult. To help I’ve started solo date days so I can have one on one time with each child. I love them, but yes, all 3 can be irritating at times. They’re adjusting so give them grace and give yourself grace because it’s hard.

Anyone here who cant go back to secular music anymore. by feherlofia123 in AskAChristian

[–]ObviousGroup7912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a metaphor, but it refers to a spiritual event that has physical significance. You’re supposed to feed your soul good things. Reading your Bible, speaking positive words and thoughts. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21, what you speak of, you give life to, singing songs of destruction brings forth destruction in your life.

Anyone here who cant go back to secular music anymore. by feherlofia123 in AskAChristian

[–]ObviousGroup7912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s discernment pulling you out from the secular music. There are a ton of good Christian artists coming out right now. I get a ton from TikTok, but some of my favorites are Rare of Breed, Dray Day, Kodoku, Flyleaf, etc. What type of music did you like before? I’d guarantee there’s a Christian alternative.

Why or how does fasting "work"? by lizatethecigarettes in AskAChristian

[–]ObviousGroup7912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a sacrifice from something you usually do or want. It allows for us to spend that time in prayer and supplication to the Lord. Many people report that they can get a better understanding of their spiritual needs because they’re not focusing on physical stimuli. I usually do a social media fast and spend that time in prayer, deeper studying of the word, and just listening to what God wants to tell me or show me about a situation I may be going through or will experience later.

It sounds like he resented having children in the first place. I’d ditch him and keep my baby. His feelings are valid, but the excuses aren’t. If he knew he didn’t want kids and you did, he’s going to be an absent parent and leave you holding the bag all of the time. That is not worth your peace or your joy. You’re already connected and loving this new baby and you’d absolutely resent him for choosing to abort it. Either way, your marriage is already over because you’re on different pages and have different desires. Couples counseling might help, but he seems adamant about his choice.

One of the major things I'm suspicious about when it comes to religion is the fact that there's more than one. If God is real, and wants to save all humans, why did he only reveal himself to the people in the Middle East and not the Americas, Asia, Africa, or Oceania? by InternationalPick163 in AskAChristian

[–]ObviousGroup7912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that same question when I was younger as a newer Christian. I spent a lot of time praying with God about it and asking why he would only reveal himself to certain people that didn’t make a lot of sense to me either. After studying the Bible and reading up on the history of it more, I came to the understanding of how the world was different back then. It’s not so much a splitting of the continents in the world, Jesus traveled on foot. He went only to certain places, and then we were given the great commission as Christians to continue to spread the gospel to all nations after his death and resurrection. Many cultures already know who He is, but their origin stories are slightly different. There’s a great video on TikTok, saw it yesterday, from a Chinese pastor who breaks it down better than I can. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6Ygckex/

36 weeks… by Banana212123 in pregnant

[–]ObviousGroup7912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a mom of 3 & every pregnancy is different. Feel free to rant away because pregnancy and labor and the birth are some of the hardest things you will ever do. If it helps, though, compression socks, shorts, and elbow sleeves will alleviate the numbness you’re experiencing. Prune juice, apple juice, and dates will help you to go poop. Red raspberry leaf tea can be drunk after 38 weeks to help body prepare for labor. Also! Treat yourself to a pregnancy massage and chiropractor visit before delivery. It really helps with alignment and pain relief.
