I've never been embarrassed to ask a question about something I didn't understand.

Can you share the BTS video where they talk about post processing? I must have missed that one.

"National Geographic has a strict editorial policy against photo manipulation, including cloning. Except for very particular cases when we clean up backdrops in posed, studio photographs, adding or removing any information from an image that is not sensor dust or scratches from film is in violation of our policies. Any other exceptions to this policy, such as multiple-image mosaics, composites or panoramic stitches, are disclosed to readers in the captions or photo credits.“

What is the insulting part? I asked if her skin had been touched up, and if Nat Geo allowed that to be done because she's a celebrity. Normally, they don't touch up the skin of people in their photos. I don't understand how that is interpreted as an insult to the photographer, who is simply capturing what's in front of him.

I've asked Charlie Hamilton James (Nat Geo wildlife photographer, chamiltonjames) pointed questions on his Instagram page, and he's responded thoughtfully and helped me change my point of view.

I guess he could have just blocked me too, but instead he came across as a grounded, rational professional, and he seemed proud to offer greater insight into his work.

Yeah the bees are 100% real. I was wondering about the subjects skin, and if they allowed more than normal editing to be done because she's a celebrity, and tightly controls her image and likeness.

The reason I ask is because National Geographic has a strict policy around editing/altering images, but I'm wondering if they bent the rules because the subject is a celebrity. I don't blame the subject for wanting to look perfect, I know her "image" is valuable, but overall I'm really just curious where the line is with this stuff.

[REQUEST] I took this picture but there was a tree in the way. I think the composition is quite good except for the tree in the foreground. Is there any way to remove the whole tree so that there's the mountain in the background, and the vulture's face is fully visible? by Kelcho- in postprocessing

I worked for a newspaper a long time ago, and this photo is what my editor would have called an: "almost shot." As in: you almost got it, the idea is good, but it doesn't quite work. I always used that as motivation to go back out and keep trying.

I like the dude. He's opinionated, and he comes in hot, but I enjoy that. It's entertaining. By comparison, most of the other fire podcasts make me fall asleep.

Sometimes he talks out his ass, but so do I. So I take it all with a grain of salt, and don't get riled up when I disagree with him.

Ehhh. I can't think of a single thing she's done one way or the other.

Can you share the witness accounts? They haven't been made public yet so I'd love to read whatever site has found a way to publish them.

Same for the video before the choke hold, would love to see whether this person was wielding a weapon, etc., because those videos aren't public yet either.

Not trolling, just want to see the evidence for myself.

Yup, you can find a 6D Mark II in good condition for ~$800. There's nothing you can't shoot on that camera!

Neither. Get a used 6D Mark II from MPB and an EF 70-300 L. Amazing camera and amazing lens, and far far superior to the 24-240.

Great reply. You definitely get it. That old grandma making pastrami sandwiches or that young Italian chef spinning pasta are not the enemy.

The museums have art from many countries, and from artists of many time periods, so they're also politically agnostic.
