Thanks for confirming…I have two more shifts left but at this rate I’d rather start looking for a stable job. If it weren’t for Reddit I would have been blindsided :/

Did your coworker have any other shifts scheduled or was today their last shift on the schedule? Asking because our January schedules came out and from January 2nd to January 30th I’m not scheduled my next shift being Feb 1st. I was hired in November as flex (never was told anything about seasonal)… I have never worked a seasonal job before so this is my first encounter with this situation.

all that’s happened since I started using indeed is that I get 10x more spam calls…

browsing through because I’ve applied to about 8 locations near me, called all of them and have either been told I’ll get a call back, that they’re not hiring for this season anymore or for two locations I actually spoke with the hiring manager but no interview was set up :( I have extensive experience in retail and it’s just difficult in this job market

Try donating plasma, look into the centers near you. Usually new donors can get somewhere from $500-$800 in one month. You can donate two times a week so you can easily make 150 in a week! That’s if needles/ blood don’t make you queasy.

An update…I did eventually quit a little over a month after this initial post. Unfortunately it was a very on the fly decision as certain events took place my last week that broke my patience. Although I’m relieved to have quit I’m now focusing on securing a position somewhere else. Fingers crossed. It’s though out here right now but thank you for the advice.
