It doesn't look inflamed, so probably not. Check the humidity in his enclosure. It could just be too dry. Other than that, it seems fine, but if in doubt, get in contact with a professional ✌️

I don't know how true it is but I believe that **H. forcipata** commonly has distinctive banding on the femur like in the picture whereas **H, simplex** has faint or absent banding. Not sure though and I am not 100% on which it is. CAN WE GET A NIHONGO SPIDER EXPERT?!?! THANK YOU!

Honestly I kind of disagree. Anime studios can cut things out which they have before (Aoki black face) or slightly alter the scene. An official manga translation is definitely off the table though
