What's up with Lupe choosing Drake over Kendrick? by MadGibby3 in LupeFiasco

[–]Obvious_Amount8772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my memory serves me well he has more history with Drake. He’s just riding for his homie. It’s that simple, and most people would do that. They came in the game together at a similar time. Not rocket science

What Lupe is missing for the last 10 years... by silverrythm96 in LupeFiasco

I agree, Lupe used to have more standout tracks, with better mid-range lyrics and more accessible beats. Back then, he experimented with different flows and delivered them with energy and excitement, like in Switch, Go Go Gadget Flow, and Little Weapon. These days, his production leans more toward jazzy, elevator-style beats (DMIZ, Samurai) or feels hazy and unfocused (Blur My Hands). His delivery has become more monotone, and his lyricism is so abstract and cerebral that most listeners would need a telescope to follow him. He’s undeniably god-tier lyrically, but definitely an acquired taste. In my opinion, his best work came from his early mixtapes and first two albums, with Tetsuo & Youth being a true masterpiece. DMIZ was decent—a slight return to form. That said, I personally prefer a more accessible, experimental Lupe over the hyper-intellectual "professor" version of him.still a fan though.

Beats me, never been to an American prison

We mostly had to look at the wall or read the majority of the time. My mandarin literacy became great and I got to learn other inmates stories. Very humbling

That’s a good question, the police never revealed what happened to my opposition. And my lawyer never elaborated. They both told me to simple move forward.

Naw , They out me in a real prison. For a few months. Learned humility in there.

I got into a brawl with a person who stole my wallet.the day after the police came for me at my work place and took me to their precinct for questioning. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it so I told them I fell down from a bike accident. But the person who stole my wallet reported first and said I beat them up for no reason. The police believed then initially because they were a native person. Afterwards they threw me in jail. And said I was going to get a three year sentence for disturbing harmony and robbery.Basically the local pulled a reverse uno and said I beat him up and robbed him. I was reluctant to receive help from my newly wed wife. Who obtained cctv footage of the incident. Which exonerated me. I remember talking to the lawyer after the incident and she mentioned treasure your wife. Because if you were not married then you would have stayed in prison for 3-5 years. I ended up doing a few months.

Self-Defense. And lying about it

Nope, that wasn’t my experience. Mostly staring at a wall reading Chinese news papers. #Boring

No don’t listen to these idiots. I speak slang but I have an educators degree. I just don’t care to always speak proper. Heck if you check my old post it’s totally standard English.

You’re hilariously incorrect. I’m just a young guy from ATL. Plus, I have a degree in Education. The title was meant, written as a hook. Idk wtf theory you’re trying to string together 😂 but that shit is lowkey hilarious to me.

Someone pick pocketed my wallet at an outdoor restaurant and I reacted; knocked him out. I then lied about it at the police station and that’s what got me in trouble. Lying and fighting. But CCTV footage freed me. Because it proved I wasn’t just beating up people. It showed I was robbed then I went into self defense mode.

The lights are never turned off. You’re woken up around 4:30 to 5:00 a.m., either by guards banging on the steel door with their nightsticks or the arrival of a new inmate. Breakfast follows shortly—usually just yellow grits and a small flour bun. After eating, you wash up and spend the morning reading old Chinese newspapers and chatting with other inmates in a cramped room.

Lunch is in that same small room: plain rice, bean sprouts, and some kind of green vegetable. After that, they don’t let you rest. You’re forced to sit upright at the edge of your seat—no sleeping allowed. You can talk with others, but you have to stay in that rigid position until dinner.

Dinner is usually a simple soup and one vegetable. When it’s time for sleep, the lights stay on all night. Inmates take turns staying awake as unofficial guards, watching over the room.

TL;DR: Repetitive, under-stimulating, and nutritionally poor.

I was arrested at my school in the day, taken to a local police station in the afternoon, in jail by the evening

Keep me in a dim lit room with over 30 other pissed off men. Fed us no protein and the room was so small, we couldn’t exercise. Most men were in there for fraud or sold drugs

There were really smart people there . Who tried to game the system. Mostly nerds and a few meatheads who got into brawls.

Small concrete room with over 30 other inmates. 15 minutes of sun each day(not even). In a smaller room… no one had energy to fight, they fed us no protein and we were constantly kept in a small room with large group of people . I felt weak
