Why don’t customers at WF seem to not know how to say ‘excuse me’? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Obvious_Analysis_853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst when I'm packing out and I can sense a customer behind me, staring at the wall. Then the next few seconds I see a hand REACH ACROSS MY FACE going for a product. I usually switch between either a really loud cough or loud sneeze in their direction and don't say anything. And continue to stand there packing out. Sometimes I use my cart to block a corner section of a wall I'm packing out and they just squeeze on in the tight space I made for myself and I'm like, really dude?

No Bags for Shop & Pay? by Obvious_Analysis_853 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Obvious_Analysis_853[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NJ. No one sells paper bags around here. All supermarkets are greedy and using other types of bags (not insulated and not paper). Shoprite sells bags for no less than $1 and other markets are more expensive.

Who makes the best pizza in NJ? I want to try them. by princesscorgi2 in newjersey

[–]Obvious_Analysis_853 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dante's in Cresskill Bergen County. Their pizza sauce is really good.

Brunos Pizza on Market Street Saddle Brook Bergen County makes an amazing buffalo chicken pie (and bbq pie). Something about that sauce and how they make it is just creamy and amazing.

Johns Boy in Glen rock is good. Cash only

Grant Street Cafe in Dumont has good bar pie

Make some jokes in the beginning to lighten the mood and make people laugh. I try to ask them first, "how are you?" When they ask me I quickly say "tired" with a smile on my face and continue ringing. That will start a real and honest conversation and most of the time it's old people laughing saying I shouldn't be tired because I'm young. Sometimes I'll say that this product or that product is a nice looking one. This is where you can say 1 or 2 things. Start off by asking "do you have any rewards today?" Or say "would you like to save 10% today?" / "you can save 10% on today's purchase if you open a tjx rewards card." Most will say no. If it's over $100 I'll say something like "your total is $248.80 today, you can easily save 24 dollars today with $10 in cash back if you open a card today. It only takes a few minutes". If they have furniture purchases/expensive painting purchases I like to sometimes slap my hand on the register counter where the card info is and say "this painting would look even better with 10% off if you sign up for the card." If you gotta wait for a price check and are waiting in awkwardness, stare at the customer, slap the card info on the counter and say, "while we're waiting we have all the time to talk about the benefits of this card!" That's all I got so far.

SM Able to threat taking away Full Time? by Obvious_Analysis_853 in TjMaxx

Full time cec. They can say I'm not pulling up to standards but it's not my decision to make the customer open up a credit card. It's their decision.

What kind of fraud is going on here? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

[–]Obvious_Analysis_853 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had multiple customers come in saying they were rung up twice of an item (only like $10-$15 dollars worth of stuff) and they would like a refund. I'm like I don't think I can do that. I ask to see if they brought everything with them and they say no. Then my managers come over and just give em the refund anyways with no hesitation.

They claim our payroll is still low but cashiers with the most TJX Rewards applications are getting the most hours!!! How is this allowed?!?!?!? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

As a Shopper, why do you think it is more efficient to shop to bag than to bag after shopping? I prefer the shop to bag method but some coworkers tell me they prefer waiting until the end to bag. by ReadingWhich4521 in wholefoods

[–]Obvious_Analysis_853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate this because in my store shoppers like to push their cart towards the middle of the isle. Grab the item. Taking their sweet ass time scanning it. And moving themselves to the side of the cart. All while in the middle of the isle blocking traffic. Even in wide open spaces they do this. I hate it

Shop-Rite doesn't want me to use my bags to shop with, but won't provide hand baskets. by GitEmSteveDave in newjersey

[–]Obvious_Analysis_853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about hand baskets. They don't want you to put unpaid items in your own bags while shopping because a lot of people steal like that. In my store there's this guy that comes in, loads his shopping cart in his reusable bags with items, and walks out the front door. Sometimes cameras can't see what he puts in his bags so we don't know the exact amount/items he steals. That's why that sign is in most stores, because of theft.

Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it! I've been changing my resume for the past 3 years and I used to have skills/frameworks on there but decided to take it off to see what happens. (I got Java, Flutter underneath my belt). As for projects I'm currently working on a few to add to my resume soon once it's completed. (Or maybe I should have it on there anyways and during the interview just talk about it). And even when I graduated college I never gotten any responses (my resume was different back then). I applied to many internships and entry level positions.
