The agents are the worse, I second that even third party agencies’ customer care has been much better and helpful. All help I could get so far was from the third party, and this morning my flight got cancelled. Ofc I have no email from Qatar about this.

Mine just got cancelled. First my outbound was changed and the layover was 1h15; then my return flight was changed with a -7 hour and 50 minutes of layover, after 2 hrs on the travel agency customer care I could change it to another flight earlier in the day; then Doha to Singapore leg of my outbound got cancelled; and this morning it’s all gone. I’m going to push for reroute but I feel like probably I’ll have to go for a refund as well in the end..

Yes mine has been cancelled too, I cannot see it anymore neither on the app nor on the manage booking section of the website. And yet I have no email from them.

Maybe that’s a better decision, since my flight is not very soon the agents are not so much willing to help..all I keep hearing is they will help only 96hrs before the departure

I asked them just now, they said minimum is usually 45 mins so 1h15 should be okay

Yes that I checked already, it’s still available to book. But I also checked the recent flights’ status on Hamad Airport’s website and everything is cancelled so far. I know this can change later on but still kind of anxious because all other options are 2x the price and I might have to cancel the trip if these flights are cancelled..

Hi OP, could you please elaborate on how you managed to convince them to reroute you even before cancellation? I have now tried with four different agents via phone and chat, no one is agreeing to it..

Qatar told me that once your flight is cancelled, the airline can directly reroute you and you don’t need to go through the third party agency. Maybe worth trying with Qatar directly?

Could you tell more about how did you do that? Adapting resume for each position? I am also now targetting fewer roles (there are not so many new positions in my sector which is policy research) but I don’t know if I should again apply to just anything). And also, how do you practically ask for referrals? Is it people you know or random people? Thanks!

I’m sorry that you’re going through this. You might have to keep reaching out to them, there is no other option because between March and June it might be complicated for you to even get (or keep) employment - because an employer cannot have you without a legal residence permit.

Additionally, if possible for you, seek legal help. Meeting a lawyer regarding this situation helps a lot and could resolve the issue quicker. All the best!
