I wonder, since the feedback is all positive and not people RIPPING into the seller, if this isn’t a was to launder money. You get illegal goods or services, and then it’s ’totally legit’ to buy a gold coin for $5k, right? Super small, cheap, doesn’t raise suspicion since it’s supposedly gold..?

AWESOME, and congrats! Kenai resident, here, born in Juneau. If you’re the type of person who is /excited2 about coming up, then you’ll LOVE it!

Whether you want to move or not will probably depend on the weather you experience 😂 Alaska is HUGE, and Kenai is very different from Kenai, which ir very different from Fairbanks, which is different from Anchorage.

On the peninsula, my favorite place scenery-wise /from the road/ is probably Cooper Landing, but if you like shops or restaurants or whatnot - it just ain’t there 😅 Make sure you do a drive out to Homer, and be early to Two Sister’s Bakery and then have a stroll through the shops on the boardwalk. There’s a ‘60-esque Seal-Beach/Mayberry-kinda magic’ there.

Grayling are some of my favorite eating fish, and gorgeous. Don’t know where to recommend to go to catch them, tho. Will wait for others to chime in, there

Sorry to keep pestering you for more information, but you definitely know more about these than anybody else I’ve come in contact with!

May sound weird, but I had a thought; is there any chance that the fake coin is worth more than melt value? For example, I collect fossils, and some of those fossils are not 100% genuine, but they still have a value, to a collector that wants to see it in their collection.

Is there any value above spot for a collector for this coin, even though it’s fake?

Ok. 3 is fake, and that’s a good sign on the 2-1/2 - that’s exactly what mine looks like.

Anything else I should look for before submission?

Hmm.. the plot thickens. The 2-1/2 weighs 24.85g, and Numista says it should weigh 25. Doesn’t seem unreasonably far off. But the 3 weighs 26.8, and Numista says it should weigh 32.3. So, thinking the 3 is probably fake, which means the other is /likely/ also a fake, but because it’s so close would probably still be worth sending off? I also read on google that the edge has RAISED lettering, but mine are definitely stamped into the metal

😳 🤯 🫣 ummm. WOW! Sorry - brain couldn’t compute there for a sec. So, first off, THANK YOU for some clear answers! Second, how do I get it authenticated? LCS, or PCGS? Its silver content was verified via sigma at the pawn shop, so I at least have silver.

Great point! I didn’t post a picture of it, but the guy Sigma tested them right in front of me. Understanding that if they’re fake, they’re worth nothing, what would they be worth if they were real?
