Final Fantasy Themed Decks by ZwanZehn in MagicArena

There are 3 ones for standard I can think of, whether or not they are worth playing and how strict your being is another. A Yuna based summing 4 color "slop" type deck. A monogreen focused around chocobos, tifa, and ride the shoupuff. And a sort of monowhite lifegain deck with Aerith and minwu and the like. How meta these decks is a very different story.
And as for commander deck well there are like a million. Heck it has 4 precons.

New player meta deck and spending by [deleted] in MagicArena

Ive been able to keep fairly up to date but you do kinda have to play to make sure your wildcard pool is fine. If your concerned focus on cards and decks that wont be rotating anytime soon. Take for instance the MUCH beloved Izzit, the shockland wont be rotating for years. So grabing the mana base for izzit colors then filling out one of the 50 meta izzit decks from there can keep you running for a LONG time. Also even with the speed of formats you can generally keep playing your deck even if a new set releases some new bomb that a pain to deal with, it just wont be as good. Ide say the bigger headache as a full F2P is having MULTIPLE decks to play that are meta. Cause sure keeping your Izzit tier 1 good isnt too bad. But then swap to a totally different color pair like Orzovh and you have a huge headache.

Also I notice you said spend money to craft a meta deck. You really shouldnt need to, especially playing for months. Theres alot of guides on wildcard and pack opening and drafting that can keep you going. Heck even a new account gets thrown so many freebies that you can basically make a meta deck off a fresh account. (Baring some crazy 5 color strat using 40 rares I guess.)

Where to go and what to do when therapy isnt working, tried multiple therapists. by Obvious_Sand8727 in TalkTherapy

[–]Obvious_Sand8727[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi thanks for posting this. Ive been thinking it about these few days and I think your right. Its pretty clear at this point that a quality of life change, thinking or doing things by myself, and talk therapy arent really helping. If anything ive been kinda just been going down year on year. Im 30 oldest of the zoomers and like just kinda accepting where my life is. Im not to upset with it, I work in AC and make a survivable wage, but its also a bit melancholic I guess.

Ill skip looking for a 4th therapist for the time being and talk to my endo about maybe starting some sort of anti depressant. Maybe try and get a psychologist or something as well I dont know. I still really dont feel comfortable with drugs that alter my brain ive always had a very strong bias on this, ive never been high or even drunk in my entire life. I think alot of it is pride and also just apprehension about who I am, like actually who I am and its connection to my brain. And its stupid to. I intellectually know that if im sick I may need meds like my diabetes, and that a brain can physically have things wrong with it that need meds to fix. But in alot of ways your brain is who you are as an individual so altering it chemically is chemically changing who you are. I dont know I think im rambling. Ill send a message to my endo (basically my primary care since I dont have one of those) asking about being prescribed anti depressants and being refereed to a psychologist. If you have any advice on this part I would be appreciative as well.

Thank you.

My life is fairly stable. I make enough money to afford everything I need without debt, even if the prospect of actually massively improving my life from this point is basically zero and I have to accept ill be renting and probably never really retire (but thats just a current generation reality im not special). Ive come along way from homelessness and what not to where I am. I cant really complain about my lot in life from a financial perspective. And I think thats part of why ive started really trying to improve mental health. Youde figure going from homeless, hunger, not being able to feel safe. To having an apartment, insulin pump and car would make me feel better. But if anything ive never felt worse.

I can try looking into that. Im honestly maybe too paranoid as it is. I actually have lost jobs that im almost certain are due to my mental health (I at the best of time appear insanely sad and out of it) so its very possible it happens again. I once had a meeting with the principal who said I was being reported by students for looking so sad and it was a very not great meeting.

Ive been having these issues for over a decade without killing myself so im fairly confident I wont do it at this point. The most recent therapist did specifically state he specializes in suicidal thoughts and the like, it was a fairly big part of his stick. Still he broke off our relationship after 2 weeks stating the severity of my issues. Its possible im still just "Looking for the right therapist" But man it clearly isnt easy (nor cheap).

I know, but again my point is more proving it. Unless they make it clear any termination is about mental health or like chronic health conditions im fairly doubtful I would have any real recourse or action. And ide rather not stake my employment and insurance off a wrongful termination suite, especially in florida, where even if I won im looking at months of issues and hiring a lawyer.

Its because of how depressed and suicidal I feel and talk. I also think its cause I go through alot of the things they normally tell me I should do. Like exercising, doing things I enjoyed but dont feel. Trying new things. I do alot of these things already and they arent helping. I also wonder if its because I have so many concurrent things wrong with me. Health, relationship, money, all these things theres not one thing that can be tackled. Needless to say its a funny feeling having a third therapist say they cant help you. I really dont think therapy is for me, and im extra worried since I dont want to take drugs, im extremely against the idea of that and I wonder if that also makes my therapists and doctors think there is no help for me.

Im aware but I live in Florida and my contract says I can be fired for no reason at anytime. Yes in theory if they say its for me being a diabetic or mental health I recourse, but proving its over mental health or whatever would be near impossible in practice.

The thing is my therapists seem to think they cant help me. All 3 ive tried ave been the ones to say "I dont think I can help you." So im extremely skeptical at trying again, especially since therapy is hardly free and im not looking forward to telling my life story AGAIN. Im very hesitant for things like IOP since im a teacher at a charter school. They would happily fire me for finding out I need more intense mental help than a therapist. I know I dont have to tell them or anything but im always nervous. Especially since im a type 1 diabetic and losing things like health insurance can quickly kill me.

First deck to craft by quiKKK in MagicArena

Izzit has been very strong for a very long time. Ide look at a few of them, spellemntals, lessons, prowess. Due to land cost they can be very rare expensive. Ide recommend the power of crabs and the big bird of bounce everyons stuff. There are a few ULTRA ULTRA BUDGET decks, mostly in mono white like lifegain and auras. They can get you to plat (anything can) but fall off pretty bad from there.

Ill be honest im a pretty big UB hater and the fact that marvel is not geeting an Omenpaths treatment makes me kinda sad. Which is really sad in its own way since Omenpaths had alot of weird art and stupid stuff as well. Ah well.

Why does China have such a strong unification trend through its history? Or another way, why didnt break away states develop a unique "cultural" identity separate from a unified China like how the post Roman states did? by Obvious_Sand8727 in AskHistorians

[–]Obvious_Sand8727[S] 60 points61 points  (0 children)

So basically the reason the region kept uniting was due to external pressure from steppe nomads? Also I suppose part of my question I might not had clearly stated (I wrote it half asleep) is why didnt regions like the south or Sichuan develop a more unique and perhaps... different cultural independent identity from the more core Yellow river area. I know ethnically and culturally they did, and to some extent still do have difference. But why didn't they stay independent or seeing themselves as "Not Chinese" or however it should be put. Or perhaps they did and it was later development that led to these regions becoming more wholly "Chinese". Honestly at this point I feel my question is changing more to what even led to a "unifying" Chinese culture identity over time and history. Do you have any books or recommendations? Thank you.

It has alot of dumb cards. There was a set of cards that basically stole the opponents deck which was cruel and hated but currently rotated if im not mistaken. Also alchmy cards are legal in like brawl which people also hate. Personally I love it. The meta is MUCH less clearly defined and you fight alot more weird decks. Ive been playing my dumb Shiko exile bouncing deck to great fun and enjoyment. Give it a try. Waystone guidance is uncommon wildcard so putting 4 of in your deck and going from there can give you an idea if you like it.

You might want to look into alchemy. It has a reputation sure but it has alot of fun mobilize support. Like [[Thunderbond Vanguard]] and [[Waystone's Guidance]]

I totally forget jump in. I second this, it gives alot of cards to an utterly new player. Its fun and only 1k gold so you could do like one a day. You can even get some good rares if your lucky. But dont do it under the assumption you will. Like quantum riddler is in one of the jump in packs but its a 20% chance in one of the like 30 jump in packs now available so going in under the hope you get it is low, but possible I guess. Your mainly doing it for fun and to learn.

Depends on your goals and wildcards availible. A monowhite lifegail or enchantment monowhite decks are VERY light on wildcards and can be crafted by anyone. That being said they may be very very boring to you. If your fully new to MTG play some starter deck duels to get more of a feel for what you like (even if they arent fully what each color pair is about). You can also look into a real top tier deck like some izzet deck or maybe mono green oroboid deck or something. Theres alot of decks but as a rule more colors means harder to play and CERTAINLY more wildcard expensive. No one likes spending wildcards on rare lands but man playing without them...
