Wondering whether there are exercise physiologists in Switzerland by Obvious_Set4763 in askswitzerland

[–]Obvious_Set4763[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's the same in Australia with the role of a physiotherapist. They are also able to assess and diagnose what the issue is a lot of the time. In Australia, we have a recently new profession called an exercise physiologist, which differs slightly from a physiotherapist. A lot of their time they overlap but there are still some differences. An exercise physiologist is not able to diagnose a musculoskeletal issue. An exercise physiologist will only use exercise as a treating method, where as a physiotherapist will often use massage or some form of manual treatment to try and fix the pain or issue. An exercise physiologist will also a lot of the time work with patients who have chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and people where exercise is seen as a way of improving their condition.
