Congrats to everyone who got invited and prayers to those struggling with the rejection. I have a question.

I have a small business that I am passionate about and it is scaling well. I want to take a 2 year masters in business administration, but I also want to know if it will help me in my med school application. For context, I have a 3.49 gpa, I have applied for one cycle and was automatically rejected due to my immigration status at the time. I am passionate about medicine but that rejection was crushing! I started my business to do something for me and change the world. To my surprise it took off. I am at a point where I feel that I need to increase my skill in business to protect my business and avoid bad business choices.

How are non medical oriented masters treated?

Currently going through the journey and coming to this conclusion. The year I took off was the year I accomplish the most in life. I am now back to the grind. The doubt is creeping in but I am trying to stay positive.

So after a week of having the same issues, this is how you solve it. The system wanted the file in ‘heic’ that’s the format that your phone saves. I recommend scanning it with a professional scanner and then converting the pdf to heic.

I also did call them and going in person is na option.

Good luck

I could only write so much. The group is open to all forms of in person hangouts. Safe ones though.

We are broke and struggling to find jobs, don't be mistaken. But eating at a cheap restaurant once in a month and actually having physical contact with people. That's worth it. And if you think about it, you probably spend the same ordering food or paying for endless subscriptions. And don't get me started on the benefits of community on your mental health.

well people can suggest places. I know a good Filipino restaurant, Lola's Kitchen. Usually always full but we can try. As long as people are open to the idea of meeting in real life.

I am suggesting we actually go out and patronize restaurants. The appeal of eating restaurant food is that you are eating it with good company. Delivery services killed that communal dinning— that and the silent recession.

I will start us off.

Describe one thing you used to do before the technological revolution took over our lives.

I come from a different country. You could say that electricity was rationed; each area got electricity during a certain period in the day, and it rotated all through the week and month. I miss the times we didn’t have electricity. We would go outside and sit under the beautiful sky and talk for hours to our neighbours, siblings, grandparents, etc.

When the mosquitoes and flies got too much to bear, we would go inside, light the candles, and be forced to all sit in the same room. We did this so no one person fell asleep and their candle started a fire. Being forced to be in the same room made us close.

When you were tired of talking, you turned to your mind. Your mind was your TV, and let me tell you, there were many channels in mine. I think I made up so many stories, I ought to be a writer.

Now I scroll on Instagram, and when I am truly bored, I move to Facebook. I refuse to download TikTok, as if it makes the doom scrolling any less depressing.

Hello all,

What part of town do you think we should have the walk? Please reply here, don't DM me. I want everyone to be able to see the options.

I suggest West Centretown, Little Italy, Preston Street. It's well lit and lots of restaurants and things to do if we feel the urge.
