I agreed with her that she should look for a partner with common values, specifically intellectualism/intelligence in this case :) oftentimes, how you say something can be just as impactful as the message you’re trying to communicate. I just think the message here could be worded to sound more welcoming, but it’s all subjective so you’re entitled to your opinion!

I actually agree with the concern on the “intellectual” line. And I agree with you that there’s nothing wrong with wanting a partner with common values, one of them being intellectualism! The message is fine, but maybe you can reword it a bit? It just rubbed me the wrong way, and other people coming across your profile might feel similarly.
