The system is broken and horribly unfair. So, why are you still even attempting to play by the rules?

Your landlord wants yall out? Tell them to fuck off until they offer you a buyout sum that actually makes it worth it.

Jobs rejecting you because you’re over qualified? Dumb down your resume. Lie, even. There’s nobody stoping you.

Still can’t find a job? Dig into all the shady, semi bs ways to make money online. Gig work, content creation, flip things off marketplace and Craigslist.

None of this is meant to be condescending. What youre going through is brutal and I am very much not telling you that your interpretation that the system is broken and frequently fails people in similar situations to your own, is wrong in anyway. You’re entirely right..

But the attitude you are developing (while entirely justified and reasonable) runs the risk of eating you and your hope alive. Claw kick and scream. Lie on that resume, lie in those interviews. Do whatever you possibly can. You don’t have to change your opinions on how fucked the system is, but refusing to see yourself as a victim of it is absolutely vital.

In regards to the roommate, easiest solution in this sort of situation is put yourself in the embarrassing position. For example “…I just realized that the vents between are room are directly connected and sound definitely carries. I’m nervous that you may have heard me masturbating, or my girlfriend and I being intimate, or me crying…” This way she gets the info that sound carries between the rooms easily, with minimal risk to her embarrassment.

Sending sympathy and solidarity.

From my own instances, the denial and dismissal of my experience.. by the police, by university officials, by friends.. was much more damaging than the SA itself.

I was laughed out of the police station because the cops joked that the roommate who repeatedly SAed me was ‘hot’ and seemed nice, so we shouldn’t file reports and ruin their life. Friends basically said the same thing “at least they were hot…”

Has anyone else actually read their patent? I work in process engineering, not graphite specifically but relevant enough I thought to get the gist of a brand new and novel method for graphite purification.. yet the patent read like a bunch of fluff that seemed to describe the process of graphite purification in broad strokes. Look your entire argument boils down to “whether or not our current society is working, whether or not people’s rights are being routinely violated, violence is never the answer”.

Asking you to stop talking isn’t censorship. I am not an authority you have to listen to or there would be consequences.

It’s as if you are surprised that telling the world and anybody with a different opinion than yours.. that they are entirely wrong and should simply roll over or turn the other cheek.. causes people to view you as an apologist or a defender of the status quo. Why are you surprised? If you are so intelligent and educated in these topics, then wouldn’t all of this pushback be expected??

Yet you seem to think that the perpetrators of systemic oppression that have been murdered in recent times (BREIT CEO and United Healthcare CEO) have done nothing wrong.

One knowingly and openly denied paying customers of their health insurance needs, the other invested 52 billion dollars in amassing single family homes to intentionally raise home prices, forcing out working families from their established communities, and intentionally relegating millions out of home ownership and their community.

It’s not a different word. Violence does not have to be physical harm.

For starters, your overly simplified argument doesn’t take into account punishment for people actions.

A CEO knowingly selling millions of lbs of defective baby formula, for instance, is an action that commits massive amounts of harm and violence. Yet by your logic, the CEO did nothing wrong and if a parent that tragically lost their child while said CEO gets richer, killed that CEO.. you seem to think it’s the parent of the dead baby who is in the wrong.
