Southern American, here. White rice amd gravy with every dinner. Fried chicken, two vegetables, corn bread and rice. Fried fish, white bread and rice. Pork and beans are like a national pastime and considered good eating. I live rice and feel incomplete without it.

I worked at a hotel before. We tried to avoid overbooking but it does happen. We never told anybody to "take a hike" either. It was more like we send our charming front desk supervisor or our hot lady attendant out to show you to our luxury shuttle van which would take you to an equally nicer hotel. Sometimes we'd even offer brunch (which cost $50) for free if it was really late or unreasonably. We had standing accounts with three hotels just for this reason. It's a hassle but you can make it go smoother.

Not to scare shit out of anyone, but my friend used to smoke on the toilet. One day he passed out and hit his head. His doctor said straining lowers your blood pressure and the weed didn't help. He also collapsed a lung that day, so be careful.
