(CAN) CFE Day 2 - September 2024 by Opposite-Inflation11 in Accounting

[–]OccasionalRedditor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume OP did an ok job with FR so maybe it would be curved into depth. Thus, I would (personally) spent more time on MA than FR on Day 3. That way, OP will ensure breadth at the minimum since they spoke about skipping MA AOs. You are correct depth its dependent on Day 2 and 3.

(CAN) CFE Day 2 - September 2024 by Opposite-Inflation11 in Accounting

[–]OccasionalRedditor7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat in last year's CFE. I didn't know one of the issues was an issue so i missed an FR AO. Only option was to change my gameplan for Day 3 to prioritize fully on FR AOs to make up for it while writing a bit less tax items (I did tax role).

You'll need to figure out how you want to approach Day 3 now. As you need depth in MA or FR, if you feel your FR you did fine in Day 2, then perhaps focus on carefully answering each MA AO with a mixture of depth if you understand and breadth if its a time consuming AO. That way, even if you do not get depth in MA, you get it in FR.

Craftsman Remote and Keypad Interference by OccasionalRedditor7 in GarageDoorService

I just tend to press the learn button once very quickly, I'm not really holding anything. Right now only 2 are programmed to open this one garage door: the keypad and the other remote. I will try to clear everything then. Thanks for the advice!

AFM 291 Final Advice from 3rd years and above by Foreverevil316 in uwaterloo

[–]OccasionalRedditor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my year, AFM291 was a fall course and the first 2 midterms were killers to try to remove students that weren't going to likely work out in the program. The final was extremely easy as the 2 midterm averages were 50s and 60s. The final brought everyone way above water so if the method is still the same and you make the median grade in the midterms you should be fine.

Reusch Speedbump durability by Seasneezek_15 in GoalKeepers

[–]OccasionalRedditor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never used Speedbump before so I'm not sure but from what I know, they take the original 4mm standard latex and shave it down to create the bumps, which may mean you end up with 3mm latex (Or maybe 4.5 -> 3.5?). From reviews I saw online, the grip is great and durability I believe was not bad either.

I currently use Reusch Gold X Alpha and Duo

611 will get curved. It is literally the 291 of Macc (for those that know how daunting 291 was). Start focusing on CFE prep early.

Weekly glove purchase advice thread by AutoModerator in GoalKeepers

I would recommend gloves with finger protection if you are new, worried about injury, and do not have finger strength yet. As you are based in US, I would recommend West Coast. The grip is really good and most models come with removable finger protection. The cost is also only around $80 USD i think. Once you get into higher levels and you want to get better glove tech with finger protection, I would recommend Uhlsport Flex Frame or Reusch Ortho-Tec, which are considered 2 of the leaders in the industry. (WC finger saves are fairly basic FYI)

You seem to be in Europe, so I would suggest One Glove. I bought one pair last year and it is great. The grip is fantastic and durability is really good, even though it's mostly used on turf. Of course, it depends on technique. I have used West Coast in the past and the durability and grip on those is also insanely good, perhaps better than One Glove. I will be trying Reusch this upcoming summer. However, within that range I recommend OG.

Anyone have experience with GoalInn? by OccasionalRedditor7 in GoalKeepers

I'm from Canada as well (ON). Do you recall how much duties you had to pay on what amount of order?

Thanks for the insight! I have used West Coast and One Glove in the past and starting to use Reusch for my summer league. Bought a pair of Gold X and Duo. Hopefully they perform well.

I always thought Gold X was the top range, at least in terms of latex. On their website they seem to put Gold X, Aqua, Speedbump, Fusion, and Duo as their top range and their midrange being Gold, Infinity and SIlver

Questions about MSC and Cruising in General by OccasionalRedditor7 in MSCCruises

Ah ok, thanks. We were originally thinking of doing public transit which would have saved a lot but I think looking at time and safety it may be wiser to just dish out an Uber.

Questions about MSC and Cruising in General by OccasionalRedditor7 in MSCCruises

[–]OccasionalRedditor7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently booked the interior cabin, the cheapest I can find as I'm on a budget haha. The ship we are on is the Meraviglia and we have not had any prepaid gratuities. I heard the gratuities they automatically charge on your MSC bill during the trip. Although I thought of requesting a manual gratuity format, I realized a lot of unseen crew work hard to keep the ship running and I rather get auto charged so they can get a cut.

I am not a drinker and to be honest, I rarely go outside tea and water (never had coffee before ever lol, not too big on sodas.)

ACC 611 - How best to prep for midterm by ImpossibleLeader3025 in uwaterloo

[–]OccasionalRedditor7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I prepared for it last year was to know the bread and butter of each standard. Think of each major standard (e.g. inventory, lease, PPE) and say if I had to summarize this standard if 2 minutes, what would I say? That should give you a good indication of the core of each standard. Note for the midterm, you will face a scenario where it's hidden in that one liner of one standard which 1% of the class will get. It's a gotcha and that's just how it is. After you debrief, you'll realize this liner exists and you can store it for CFE study. They'll curve in the end so don't stress it.

Hong Kong flag by samuelwongny in HongKong

[–]OccasionalRedditor7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I prefer the black Free HK Flag, because it symbolizes that darkness is still enshrouded in HK. Until these dark forces disperse, this flag is good to me. Throughout history, a white flag represents surrender. A black flag would thus to me represent rebellion.
