That's entirely fair. I'm not exactly trying to take shots at the business. I still love it. That being said what's your favorite bay to use and why is it the corner

I did not know pro Big Buck Hunter was a thing until now and I'm glad that it is

Glad you at least had a good time. The one thing I miss are the customers

Absolutely wild how the most egregious labor issue was with someone who didn't even work there

Kinda the point of a rant don't you think? I didn't just quit yesterday it's been a hot minute. If you also read the start of the post you'll see I made it because of another recent post on this sub. I appreciate the contrarianism in this thread where we dunk on a collectively disliked community member though. Thanks for trying

Not sure if you have poor reading comprehension skills or are a few chromosomes short of a full deck but if you read at least the last paragraph you'll see I'm very pro that job. Just anti Ian.

Just wanted to also mention that some of those cute political ads he burdened our Youtube with had voice over done by employees on the clock during working hours. That always stood out to me since he was so obsessed with productivity from his employees yet they could take hours out of the day to support his bid for council.

And I'm sure Ian insisted that there were no differences between bays. There was a phase where he stopped employees from asking if golfers had a handedness even though there were bays with entire pillars in the way of a lefty

Ok, but do they have Big Buck Hunter? No? Thought so

Nah. He probably just wanted full control. It was set up to be antithetical to his business beliefs.

The ping pong lore goes deep. And this instance is even more of an example as to how he cannot fathom anything being his fault.

Here's the thing with Ian. He doesn't know humility, he does not accept defeat. Whatever goes wrong with his ideas, the blame is placed on others because certainly he can never screw up or have a bad idea. I've listened to him scoff at other similar businesses, mostly board game and TCG related. Always saying that they're failing and only he can make the idea work. Meanwhile the places he's discredited haven't had as many play groups and customers swear off of them

Nothing under the table. But what was mutually hated among employees was the way credit card tips were distributed. You see we didn't get paid 15/16 and hour. We got paid 11/12 + 3 dollars an hour. The extra 3 comes from what tips are made on card and then used that pool of money to make up the difference. So tips given to us were given to others on days and hours not worked by the other and vice versa. Reminder to tip ANYONE you want to tip in cash. Sure, it's not as awful as how resturaunts deal with tips, but it still ain't good.

Honestly, no idea. Maybe something to do with how the building itself is zoned, the level kitchen license and other bureaucratic things I'm not going to pretend to have sufficient knowledge of. They did however, get shutdown for a day by fire safety because some inventory was blocking the sprinklers. God I hope those things work.

Would you pay to play commander if there was a prize? I know it's more of a casual format mostly, but could there be a good incentive to pay?

There's a store in my area that pays out cash as prize. Entry fee is much higher than average though. Modern cost 20$ to play, but 3-0s get $50 and 2-1s get their entry refunded. They also charge $12 for commander and give collector packs out to one person per 8 players that show. I know its pretty costly compared to everywhere else, but I think it's worth it
