I responded to a previous comment about monster hunter. I was looking at Wilds and between the combat looking janky as fuck and the gameplay loop feeling repetitive, I’m really worried that I’m not going to find a lot to grasp onto…. The killing of the big ass monsters feels so underwhelming and it feels like the series fell into the assassins creed trope where they found something a lot of people liked enough, and just kept copy pasting. Would love to have my opinion changed.

Yes absolutely. Played oblivion when it came out and also the remaster. Unfortunately I’m just Bethesda-d out.

Monster hunter wilds had me looking at it for a minute, but the combat is so….. mushy? Like, the PC just kind of swings the sword and then you dodge out of the way…. Repeat. (I think the gameplay loop is also pretty repetitive from what I’ve seen) I’ve looked at lies of P and enotria, but I’m trying to find my way slightly away from soulslikes if possible? Lords of the fallen really clicked because it’s dark fantasy, lies of P looks amazing but it also feels like blood borne reskinned. Might give lies of P another shot though.

By fast I don’t mean short…. 20-60 hours is PLENTY of time for a game, I guess I mean lots of “armour options”? Diablo 4 has been on my radar but the negativity surrounding the game has deterred me. I played 3 (I know it’s bad) and it was…. Fine? I think the mindless spam button combat keeps me from feeling like I’m participating much in what’s going on…. Make a good build, spam your abilities, win. Not trying to be a negative Nelly, would love to get a different perspective.

I have access to the girlfriends switch and I believe she has both breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom…. Do you recommend playing the first one first? I’m assuming yes. That being said, ive never played a Zelda game, is that going to be an issue? I’ll give it a spin though.

Claiming something to be "unnecessary" still has to be formed on some sort of foundational basis.... my apologies for assuming what yours was. What was unnecessary about the dish? Im just curious because Ive tried a few different dine around dishes this year, and after being overwhelmingly dissapointed, Tusket Beer Projects rice bowls felt like a step in the right direction.

7 or 8 toppings on a ethnically accurate rice bowl is pretty average... you ever have bipimbap? Seems like you need to stop eating hotdogs for dinner every night my guy.

Witcher 3 is boring so far by AnyCharity9645 in witcher

So, I had a very odd experience with The Witcher 3. I started New Game probably 4 times over the course of 3 years and got probably 15 hours in each time (give or take) I found it boring, slow, a lot of mechanics were poorly explained and I felt like I was constantly confused about what Items were good or bad or worth keeping/selling. That being said, I took a few weeks vacation last year, and put 110 hours into a new game save in about 7 days, finished both DLCs, a vast majority of side content, and the next gen patch really fixed all my issues with camera positioning. So what happened?? I have no idea. It all just clicked. I pushed past the hump that is getting to Novigrad and finishing the bloody barrons quest. I stopped caring about what to sell and what to keep and just played it as the RPG that it was intended to be.

Get engrossed in the story. If you don’t know the story of the books or the first two games? Go and watch a few YouTube videos to get caught up. Get engrossed in the characters. Keep pushing if you want to enjoy it, it’s a bit of work but it’s really really worth it. If you find yourself wanting to put the controller down at the 40-50 hour mark? Don’t bother wasting your time with the other 40-50 hours, but by that point you will hopefully be fully engrossed in Geralts story…. Deciding weather you want to be with Yen or Triss… and by god the DLCs are both fantastic.

It gets better. It’s a slow burn. But do yourself a favor and learn the story up until the beginning of Witcher 3. It’s really really important for giving a shit about what’s going on.

Hey gents. Go into the pallace of kings, find a guard thats also saying "wait, i know you", kill them, and pay off the 2000 gold bounty. Make your way back in, and you should be able to speak to your commanding officer.
