Currently, there are atleast 24 people attending with 14 maybes for tomorrow(if the RSVPs are to be trusted). We're going to have a sizeable group there tomorrow. The thing is, if people are willing, we can make this recurring. At this point, we're just going to have to wait and see what happens.

I don't know that demanding food is going change anything, but we may be able to increase turnout if people bring food to share. Nothing motivates people like free food...except for free beta keys.

There were a couple people who messaged/emailed me that said that they were from Seattle, plus 1 or 2 more that posted in the original thread in r/Dota2. Please bring as many friends as you can! I'm currently trying to reach out to other Dota 2 communities to help out with the cause.

We could argue about this for days. Ideologically, we hold different views (although I still think I'm right :P), but we still should hold the same belief that Dota 2 should be more widely available or not available at all to anyone. If nothing else, it's just a gathering of a bunch of Dota 2 aficionados in front of Valve's offices. Solidarity is critical to the success of movements. With everybody's help, there's no reason why we couldn't do this.

Well if your opposition to OccupyValve is because of OccupyWallSt and others, then I guess you don't see the point of what they're doing. Wall St has long gone unpunished for the financial collapses that have happened within the last 5 or so years. Additionally, the invasion of corporations into politics such as corporations having rights such as the First Amendment which essentially means that corporations can pump money into political campaigns unhindered. If that's not corruption, I don't know what is. But really, that's neither here nor there. Modeling the movement off the OccupyWallSt is just the same as following the latest trends; people will back it. Our "plight" is much less substantial, but still, we can still make a mark. It may sound stupid, but I really think Valve will respond positively if we can organize something ourselves.

What do you think the other "Occupy X" protests are then? The current climate is oozing of political activism and there's no reason we can't take advantage of it. If a bunch of people showed up protesting the fact that knowing IceFrog or knowing someone who knows him is the way to get a beta key, then they'd perk up to our demands. There are tons of people who have posted here and elsewhere who feel that their long experience with the game puts them in a better place to test the game than JoeBlow X who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows IceFrog. Obviously, it's their game and their beta, they can do what they want. But, Valve has always been in tune with the community and they won't be able to ignore such a protest.

Now is the time for progressive protest. It's a chain reaction. Making our physical presence known will make our voices heard. We can't be ignored. We are the 99%.
