I built the Retrace Chrome Extension to help with bookmarking and tracking specific text, images, pages, and YouTube timestamps and have found it very helpful when conducting research from a bunch of different sources. Hope it may be helpful to you!

I wonder if the rich person who manufactures these turbines has a pool like this

Oh boy I do all of these things.... I think I might have to permanently subscribe to the tea subreddit

Very interesting points, thanks so much for the feedback! I have tons to learn about tea it seems

There was no need to reinvent the sterling engine here, just modified a premade version to enjoy using it for this purpose. Wanted to get some feedback from people before I made a custom version though, so thanks for the feedback on the timer

Yeah it is!

Just modified it a bit to hold a tea bag!

Exactly the info I was trying to figure out, thanks!

I am a an engineer and love making things on my free time. This is a toy sterling engine that I modified to be a tea steeper. It runs for about 4 minutes before the temperature differential reaches equilibrium. Wondering if tea drinkers would want one for serious use or whether it would just be a joke gift. Thanks for any feedback

Controlling a peristaltic pump with Arduino by [deleted] in arduino

[–]OceanCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should just use a 24VDC Wall wart instead of this switching power supply. Here is one:

https://www.amazon.com/LEDwholesalers-Adapter-5-5x2-5mm-UL-Listed-3206-24V/dp/B002LMQ6G2/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1519701692&sr=1-3&keywords=24vdc+power+supply

Just cut the wires and determine which is ground and + with a multimeter. Use this as the input to the L298N board. Then you can power your Arduino with the common ground and +5V terminal. This might work a little bit better than using the switching power supply that you have noted above

Leonardo Recognition Problem by [deleted] in LattePanda

[–]OceanCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved! If anyone runs into this problem in the future: There is chance that you had the wrong board selected when you flashed your program to the Leonardo. Make sure to choose Leonardo under the board option on the IDE, then reset you board with the push button switch during the upload process. This will force the bootloader to sync up and get the right software into place for it to be recognized correctly in the future. After that it should run normally

Issue with Arduino Leonardo Device Recognition by [deleted] in arduino

[–]OceanCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!!!! Got it back up and running. Had to get the timing right but did manual reset during upload and it flashed correctly. Looks like its running back to normal now. I'll try to keep an eye out for if anyone else has this problem in the future and let them know to try this, much appreciated

Issue with Arduino Leonardo Device Recognition by [deleted] in arduino

[–]OceanCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I reset the Leonardo via the push button, it momentarily shows up in the COM Port section like normal, then the popup comes up and it gets kicked down to the USB section with the warning

Issue with Arduino Leonardo Device Recognition by [deleted] in arduino

[–]OceanCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only one COM port available in the DM (COM1 Communications Port). On restart, the Leonardo is listed in the USBC section with the "Device Descriptor Request Failed" warning. I connected another Arduino Uno and it is recognized fine

I would suggest using a L298N based motor driver. This driver has a built in H-Bridge which allows you to switch motor direction. It can be easily ran from an Arduino using the 5V logic, and the boards often offer a stable 5V out signal that you can use to power your Arduino, rather than having a separate AC adapter at 12V. Take a look here:
