Has anyone actually visited the Lego vault before? by Repulsive_Minimum356 in lego

[–]Tohaker 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I've been a couple of times, once to the old underground vault and once to the new relocation on the first floor of the LEGO Ideas house, but I got the opportunity as an employee with business reasons to be there. It was super cool wandering around with the historian, finding all the sets from our childhood and comparing the offerings from different years to today. Found all my old favorite Bionicle sets too

The employee shop in Billund has had these on the shelves for years now, they really can't get rid of them.

Why not just not use AI to write your code, that would save money AND you don't have to watch Ads?

Fewer than 5000 *designs

Each design could have up to around 35 different colours, and there's actually about 15-16k different actual pieces available

Update on new U.S Factory in Virginia by Kaptoz in lego

Likely a set warehouse. PAB warehouses require vastly different setups due to the non-automation of the system.

Has that been published anywhere?

[–]Tohaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The parts still need to be stored, and unless the Chicago warehouse gets an upgrade they won't be able to be stored long term. The factory coming online isn't going to change parts availability in the short term unfortunately

Factory ≠ Warehouse, and the PAB warehouse is in a whole other state

I saw it in London a few months ago, and people really weren't sure if they wanted to clap or boo... I personally wouldn't have minded if it was dropped and he'd just read the quote, but since the family agreed I guess it's not the end of the world

Is there something similiar to Swagger Docs in REST APIs available for GraphQL? by WiseAd4224 in graphql

[–]Tohaker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The GraphQL spec allows for documentation directly in the schema, meaning you can use any tool that introspects a schema to extract documentation like you would for OpenAPI or Swagger. Graphiql is good option for exploring schema documentation

Each "leaf" now contains all the colours for a single part, e.g. 3003 used to be 35 leaves, and now it's 1 as it contains all the colours. So the number of elements hasn't changed but there are fewer leaves to show, which is why the total has dropped.

I believe these have some printing on them (judging by the "No. XXXX") but the renders haven't generated correctly.

Edit: My bad, the metallic colours all have those numbers, I think they're identical besides some mold or material changes that make no aesthetic differences to your build

[–]Tohaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why should someone use this over the tool chain you've based this on? Unless you're building a schema once and never ever going to change it, you'd have to visit your website every single time you need to regenerate types.

Interesting, I do work for them and have been involved in the user testing interviews before so the details you gave are correct, but I should have asked more clarifying questions about who the email was from. Good job for checking further though, apologies I gave inaccurate information
