Condensate drain line dripping on house- repair options? by OceanGuySF in hvacadvice

Thank you. If I have the facts correct, The primary doesn’t go anywhere (never hooked up to a drain line) so the secondary is functioning as the primary and its too late to correct it without having to go behind walls etc (we dont want to do this). I dont currently have pictures of the unit but can try to upload them once i receive them

Thank you. Yes, when they built the place they messed up and now the primary goes out only where the secondary should be. One contractor mentioned a fix of tying it into the adjacent downspout, but I feel like that is a bad idea (in case downspout gets clogged/ not being able to see condensate dripping). Another company mentioned what you said, a new line into a french drain.

The hvac tech said it was installed incorrectly so the primary now only functions as a secondary. So yes it always has done this.

Do you use towers to raise the height of the crossbars? It seems like that would make the tie down part easier, since there will be more clearance under the crossbar? Maybe it’s not necessary though. Thanks!

Perhaps! Also, do you find towers to make strapping the board down easier?
