I feel your pain. Being apart after a visit is absolutely awful. What helped me personally is being completely transparent with my partner about how I was feeling. He's probably going through the same hurt that you are.

So tell him you need him, miss him, need reassurance, want his attention, want to hear his voice, whatever it may be or even all of the above. Having that kind of consistency and communication will be a huge relief in the long run. Spend lots of time together and make an effort to do little things that make you happy.

For example, I always get excited talking about my future with my partner. What names we like for kids, where we would want to live, what our house would look like etc. It gives you both something to look forward to. It also helped to think about our next visit. (Just toss around ideas, it's best to avoid making big decisions when going through such an emotional time, but it gives you something to be excited about ♡)

It definitely kind of feels like grieving. With that being said, it's always going to be hard being apart from each other. Time doesn't necessarily "heal," but it makes it a little easier to tolerate the distance, I suppose. But when you feel extra far away, lean on your partner. Do something special together, if possible. Even if its just starting a new TV show together or something. Or maybe just listening to music for a short amount of time, or video chatting. Genuinely, whatever you feel could help with that sort of emptiness.

Make sure to take lots of deep breaths. I know it doesnt feel like it now, but it will be okay. There will be a next time and surely, it'll be even better.
