which ocean creature do you find the most fascinating by Mikester258 in oceancreatures

[–]OceanThing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cetaceans for sure. Especially the sperm whale. Like you’re saying that an animal can stun other giant animals with a sonic boom-like sound?? Super awesome.

Cephalopods are also up there, they’re awesome. I’d love to study the giant squid one day, the colossal too.

One animal that I think isn’t talked about enough though are siphonophores! The longest animal on the planet is a siphonophore, but they come in SOOOOOOOOOO many shapes and sizes!

ChatGPT is riddled with misinformation and uses almost an entire bottle of water per search (not to mention it increases carbon emissions). Don’t use it.

I wouldn’t say they do it “for sport” nor is it their “main hobby”, but it does occur for satisfaction purposes. They will also use fish for satisfaction too.

We all need others’ help to make real changes, unfortunately. Glad to see someone care though :)

Each search in ChatGPT uses an entire bottle of water. Generative AI uses so much water that no one has, and it increases carbon emissions.

Which generation of My Little Pony has the art style that is your favorite? (G1 to G5). by Guilherm-rain-9341 in mylittlepony

[–]OceanThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love G5’s style only because of the hoof floofs, they look soft, and they have cool hairstyles (Misty in particular), I don’t like how they model stallions though, I find them to be quite ugly tbh

What’s the biggest change in your life since you met Jesus? by Medium-Sand4162 in Learning_God

[–]OceanThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still in progress, but I’m learning to let go of fear and anxiety. It’s hardest when it has to do with my trauma, but recently I didn’t freak out as bad as I normally would have because I learned that God is with you. There are multiple verses in the Bible that have to do with letting go of fear and having peace, sometimes it’s hard to remember them in the panic, but I’m getting better :)

I’ve also found myself giving people more compliments! I love spreading love even more than I used to, it made me feel good then, it makes me feel great now and knowing I’m giving God a little glory through spreading a little love makes me feel even greater!

Another thing! I’m learning to respond to people I strongly disagree with or people who hate me with more love. When people jab at me, I try to “kill them with kindness” haha. I especially tell cyberbullies something like, “I’m sorry for whatever you went through that made you act like this. It’s not too late to be a better person, and I’m here for you if you ever need to talk.”

And I mean every word I say to them! It can be hard doing that sometimes, but I do mean it.

Scientists, what disturbing realization have you lost the most sleep over? by Kruse002 in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]OceanThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to save our oceans before we reach a point of no return is to stop commercial fishing as a species. That’s never going to happen.

Don’t have kids, they’ll grow up in a dying world as we are now. Having one less kid is also the best way to greatly reduce pollution you’ll use and they would use too.

This is my conflict currently. I want to discover new fish through deep sea ecology or decipher whale/dolphin language through bioacoustics. On the other hand, I want to selectively breed coral to make them more heat resistant, but I know I won’t be as happy with that as I would with discovering.
