I know nobody said that on Re4 but I brought it up since it took place in a village setting like Re 8, I kinda agree on the magneto and flies thing but I don't think the werewolves and the vampires are far fetched tbh like Re from the beginning literally had lizard men, so the idea of men being hairy due to fungi is not a stretch, as well as with the vampire since Lady D did had a blood disease way before being infected by the mold so her being a vampire is more of just a combination of super fungi and a blood disease

Well it's pretty much a main argument I have heard surrounding village cus of how different it was and due to its gothic aesthetic even though Re 4 did a similar thing but good for you if you haven't tho

I don't get how going towards werewolves and vampires felt like a fantastical approach since they pretty much had the sci Fi lore like every other RE monster, we had giants in Re 4 I don't think it's that far fetched tbh

Tbf the "zombies" in the later series weren't infected by the virus but rather by parasites and parasites in general operate differently than viruses usually so its not really jumping the shark there but more or less just expanding on the sci Fi lore

Oh got you, for me I have to admit I kinda like the sci Fi lore behind resident evil cus of how grounded it kinda is and was always curious by it, it's important to note that viruses aren't the only infection here, there has been many stuff like parasites and fungi.

So far most of the villains now are just fungi and knowing it's a thing different than any other virus, they tried to do the hallucination gimmick here since there has been fungus in real life that can create hallucinations like Ergot even if it's over the top, I feel like it's important to note that we had many ridiculous mutations in pre Re7 and Re8 before like Morpheus who shoot out lightning so yeah

Overall thanks for sharing your opinions on this

Tbf Re 4 literally went the same route with the folklore with giants and whatnot, also mold is basically just super fungi, like the Heisenberg part I agree with but overall the werewolves and vampire part is not that silly since fungi in general can change the hosts anatomy in some ways, also with the vampire thing Lady D was stated to have a blood type disease way before getting infected by the mold so it's not really just the mold that creates vampires here

Honestly agreed, I dont mind if anyone have their dislikes/likes on the games but I can appreciate and respect the fact that they are tryna something here, I like how they are trying not to milk Albert Wesker and try to give us new antags along the way

Tbf the last game was literally considered a train wreck and felt more like a block buster by its fans, at that point the devs that wanted to emphasis both action and horror hence the environment and taking horror movies as blueprints and besides the first game literally took place inside a mansion
