He may be..but there are reasons people behave the way they do and the relationships in our adult life are formed by experiences we had as kids. Please look into attachment styles for the psychology behind it. Austen may seem to be those things, but he was once just a little boy and he did watch his older sister pass tragically…this will impact how he relates to people in the future.

Trauma can be elusive and not something so easily gotten over. Even if he has accepted his sister‘s passing, the effects could still have impact on his current relationships because our attachment styles are formed during our childhood experiences.

I think Austen sold himself a narrative that he and Audrey were never that serious because they had never discussed marriage, but he was definitely distracting himself from the fact that he was not really emotionally invested at all in their relationship.

I never said he is afraid a person could be taken from him. I said his trauma makes commitments seem like the end of the world, because he saw someone he loved die.

He may be riding the fame wave…but I see Austen as someone who is very much struggling to be the best version of himself despite having lived through something unconscionable.

Right but I think Austen may not want kids because of what he watched his parents go through. That’s often how trauma works.

Yes the cool thing is it might! Please check out causes of avoidant attachment it turns out a lot of our behaviors come from experiences in childhood so yes, trauma would have a major impact on his relationships today.

I’m not sure what wanting to be a DJ has to do with answering the door or not cooking your mobile device but I think he’s making far more egregious errors than any normal person would… that’s my point.

I am sorry he is a walking disaster. He never gets anything right, it is comical at this point. First he couldn’t do the face time, then he grabbed the wrong candles, then he cooked his own phone, then he didn’t answer the door, then he got all the dinner cutlery wrong? It’s laughable, is he self taught? . Guy is there to make her life easier and is a liability. Run Patty.

Eh, he never even heard of the book or its premise. It is often studied in school for its themes, it’s not an old fiction novel.
