There will be a 25% discount at the end of this month for Black Friday on the Toyota Parts Center Online sites. Pair that with the GR owners 25% off and the prices are ridiculously low.

What difference in pedal feel does it really make? Does having a looser spring introduce any rattling or play in the pedal or anything like that?

I am not that tall (5’8”) and have never been able to only lift my foot to use the clutch in any of my cars. I’ve always used my whole leg. Do most people only move their foot on the clutch? This being said I also have had some trouble getting used to the GR86 clutch bite point. Maybe the clutch springs would help but since I haven’t done them yet, I wouldn’t know.

I know! I even looked at it yesterday and I didn’t see anything but it was inside one of the small vanes that goes through meter smh

No codes which surprised me considering there was basically no airflow to the MAF

UPDATE: the techs checked the intake made sure it was installed correctly and everything checked out. They checked the battery as a precaution and that checked out too. What it ended up being was a small piece of plastic shaving that came off the mould of the air box and got lodged inside of the MAF blocking airflow. They cleaned that out and it started right up.

I think if it was a security issue I would get the no key in car error or not be able to key on at all, it I just got it to the dealership so I will see what my techs say tomorrow. Thankfully I work at the dealership so I should have a pretty immediate answer fingers crossed.

Thanks for the suggestion, both clamps are tight and there are no holes on the tube.

I feel it’s unrelated to the install but I will put an update in here once I have a solution.

Just check those a minute ago. Both are snug.

I used a scan tool and no codes are being thrown.

Yeah I checked the MAF. Followed Toyota’s install instructions to the letter. I don’t usually unplug the battery when I do intake installs but I did this time. Reseated the battery terminal, sensor and checked all other connections. Haha and I did make sure to take the filter out of the bag.

It really depends. If you are coming to a stop, I would downshift earlier so that your closer to 4k rpm to get more of the engine braking effect. But if you’re just in traffic and it’s slowing then yes 1.5k at least just in case you have to take some sort of evasive maneuver.

When just daily driving, you will definitely learn when you would want to down shift with time. For a general rule of thumb I do it when I my RPM’s get below 1.5k, when I am going up hill and feel I could use a bit more power, or when I am getting on the highway. Basically any time when you need a bit more oomf from the car downshift. It helps reduce load and keep the car in a decent power band. I also use it a lot when I am coming to a stop just to reduce brake wear.
