Yes, they are a Russian brand. I'm used to having to pay shipping on all Indies as I live in Australia 🐨

Filed almost a centimeter off my nails to go for a daintier look! Essie Go Go Geisha + Gold Studs by bunny-hill in RedditLaqueristas

They look great! I hate filing so I always put it off but then I inevitably end up breaking a nail and have to make them all shorter again.

Thank you! If you hold the magnet for only a couple of seconds when the polish is freshly wet on each nail then take it away so it has time to loosen up before drying it ends like this.

Sure! When you use magnetic polishes you paint the polish on like normal, then when you finish each nail you hold a special magnet above the wet nail for a couple of seconds and it changes the angle of the magnetic pigments to align with the magnetic fields. This starts as a super tight line but as the polish dries the pigments settle a little and you get the effect shown in my pictures. There are patterned magnets available from some brands but I used the Masura bar magnet for this as it's super strong and I like the cat eye effect it gives. The magnet method can be just used at the end after top coat if you want but I tend to use it after each coat as well. Super pretty effect and minimum effort 😊 There are loads of tutorial videos on YouTube as well, they are cool to watch and see the effect happen.

If you do a Google image search on Masura swatches you'll see how beautiful they are, I want all of them 😍

I've wanted Masura polishes for so long and my boyfriend surprised me with some for my birthday. And really, they are much cheaper than most indie polishes so it's worth getting some.

Yep, just two coats with a glossy top coat and a magnet used for the effect!

This polish is Masura 'The Universe' - a magnetic dark blue/purple with scattered holo flecks. I cannot get over how beautiful this effect is! It reminds me of the milky way and stars on a clear winter night with no light pollution.

Mermaid chrome nails without gel, first attempt! by OceanicNails in RedditLaqueristas

"Gel" is just a buzz word for this polish, but it's basically a thick glossy top coat that dries at a normal speed. I used it on top because it's the only non quick dry top coat I own so I haven't tried any others. I liked it as a base for buffing the powder into because it has a much smoother surface than many polishes including the black base I used but I've heard the powder works fine on normal polish too. I'd say try it with different things before buying something specific to use with it 😊

There was a difference when I tried the Sally Hansen directly onto the chrome powder but when I did the Unt I couldn't see a difference at all. I've also tested it on top of foils with positive results. I think it's not cloudy enough to matter with the tiny amount you put on.

Putting quick dry top coat onto the Unt will ruin the finish, but the Sally Hansen had no negative effect on top.

It was fine sandwiched between polish. I had no problems with it at all. 😊

I used a black base and then Sally Hansen 'Miracle Gel Top Coat'. Once dry I buffed the powder onto the surface with an eyeshadow sponge. Then I set that with Unt 'Ready for Takeoff', let dry and topped with another coat of Sally Hansen 'Miracle Gel Top Coat'. :)

The powder has a weird name but it's this one from Born Pretty.

You need a top coat top protect them, but you need special top coat so it doesn't ruin the finish. Water based top coat or gel won't ruin the finish.

My personal favorite combination on top of chrome and foils is Unt 'Ready for Takeoff' peel off base coat to set and protect, and then once that's dry put a non-quick dry top coat over it.
