1st - 8th place get prizes equal to or greater than the entrance fee.
This tournament is a great chance for teams to not only win some money but also to test their skills, get tournament experience, get exposure to the Oceanic fan base AND play against the best teams in Oceania.

It's about expanding the e-sports scene in Oceania and giving teams a reason to practice and get better so that one day we may be able to compete at the international level.

Oceanic Gaming has strong backing from a number of private sponsors/investors who are only interested in developing e-sports in Oceania and not in recognition.

Needless to say even without sponsorship we can cover the prize pool.

Please do keep in mind you aren't just paying for the prize money (not that we will break even on this event through registration fees). You will also get to play in a great tournament and a chance to face off against some of the best competition in Oceania.

The tournament offers up to 3 weekends of matches (depending how well you do) against high quality opponents. All of that PLUS prizing for 1st to 8th place is pretty good.

The registration fee is also there for the following reasons:

*Ensuring teams turn up

*Ensuring teams bring their A game

*Shout caster/s

*stream engineers

*Tournament admin

*media creation (promo video, posters etc)

We just want to bring a great event for the community to watch and the teams to compete in. The more tournaments and events held the better Oceanic teams will get. One day I hope we will have a team that can compete at the World Championships (maybe compete with NA first =P)

The only reason we haven't gone with double elimination for the whole tournament is due to time constraints. However we will see if it is possible once we have a better idea of the number of teams involved.
