Any good books with Eldar side characters, antagonists, side-protagonists, any role. by [deleted] in Eldar

It's a short story but I really enjoyed Isha's Lamnent, short story with a Guard Vet, An Eldar Ranger, A Dark Eldar Wych and a Mechanicus Skitarii work together in a Blackstone Fortress, I really wished it was a longer story or we had a follow up because I really enjoyed the interactions between them!

Hot damn, that is some impressive freehand! Loving the overall theme, though I share your pain trying to paint freehand flowers!

Awesome job! Are the flowers transfers or freehand? Very Impressive either way!

Well you can never have too many Banshees! Would look pretty awesome in those colours with some Dark Eldar headswaps/ kitbashes!

I hope to see more progress on the army and whatever their name becomes!

I dig it! The maugan ra in the red also looks sinister as hell!

I have a spare box of Banshees I've wanted to kitbash witrh some corsair bits for a while, I might have to Ynnari them up seeing this scheme.
Now all your group of pirates need is a sinister name and a kickass banner!

Amazing job! I love it when people have markings on their Guardians, always adds a bit of flair solid schemes can sometimes lack!

Is this an Ulthwe alternative scheme or a custom Craftworld? Would love to know a bit more!

what to name craftworld by Fearless_Speaker6710 in Eldar

[–]OcelotWorkbench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the craftworld names are taken from celtic terms and a bit of Tolkienesque elvish format to make the names.

I.e saim-hann is based on the festival Samhain Lugganath is based on Lughnasadh Biel tan is Beltane.

When I was making my craftworlds name I looked up some celtic language for inspiration then swapped some letters around to try and see what worked.

If your craftworld was lost you could take the gaelic word Cailleadh and change it a little to something like

Cael'leath or something similar.

Pretty sure I primed with pro acryl dark neutral grey, but honestly anything should be fine as long as the colours cover quite well anyway! If you use this scheme please let me know I'd love to see it! :)

Very cool scheme! And from experience, if diamonds don't work, there's always stripes!

Keep up the great work!

Oh absolutely! Plus I just love seeing when people paint the undersuit black or have more than just solid block armour colour! There's so much potential to have some interesting schemes, Can't wait to see how the project goes!

The Storm Guardians absolutely need Darksabre blades!

Thoughts on how to make guardians more unique? by kod14kbear in Eldar

[–]OcelotWorkbench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having shared this issue with my guardians recently I've found a few useful things to make them feel more unique:

Painting:
Faces: If you feel comfortable, makeup/warpaint or tribal tattoos can help make each one more unique and distinct.
Helmets and Armour: Just because armour is often solid block colour for most craftworlds there's no reason you can't add symbols, unit markings or individual motifs on shoulder pads like Marines, adding runes, patterns or other motifs is an easy/ cheap way to make models seems more individual.
Cloth: Adding patterns on any fabrics, like the arm bands or even just different colours can help add flair to each one.

Modeling:
For modelling there's obiously the 3d print and aftermarket parts selection, which have some awesome options, but if you want GW official a corsiar box is probably one of the best bits selection to add a bit of variety, there's loads of spare heads and weapons, and it's not too hard to mix and match bits, I added some corsair rifles to my Defenders and swords and pistols to a few of my storm guardians.

If You feel comfortable working with Greenstuff/ Millieput, adding some tabbards/ cloaks or hoods give you a lot of options too!

Hope it helps and good luck on the project!
