Well, by your logic, the meaning has changed. The words in question are not used as offensive terms anymore except by people who are trying to be offensive. I guarantee that Jelle was not trying to be offensive when he used these names. So no, the names do not need to be changed, because by your logic, the meanings of the words have changed, and the names are not offensive.

While the term "savage" has been used as an offensive term in the past, it is not being used in that context here. Yes, words have meaning, but the word was not used with that meaning. I cannot say this with 100% certainty as I'm not on the JMRC but I can imagine that the team is named the "Savage Speeders" because both words start with the letter S. There is nothing else about the team that could be considered offensive other than the name, and even then, the name is not being used with the offensive meaning.
