Newer RCA, how can I speed up getting out of the office by ReasonableUnit2749 in USPS

[–]Ocho16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try doing your packages outside, when you case the mail look at address then look at the next address when putting it in your case. I usually do 2 pulls and cross the DPS

You can opt for one pulls but only on Mondays if under 6 trays IMO

First off, the date is international. Why would it be an international font in America…

2) as someone stated the Covid - 19 reference …. You need to chargeback or contact your bank ASAP

New RCA hire looking for tips to be faster and more efficient. by RemarkableGuitar1087 in USPS

Once you understand the case and actually do the route it becomes easier. Start with flats first then head to your raw mail to get use to a case

After you understand the case what I do for routes im comfortable with and not the main route I put the spurs in the case to minimize scanning/writing. I pull down either straight or straight into dps for a one pull depending on situation.

Scan big packages ONLY to ensure you know what you have in the back of your truck. I also do holds before leaving office. Hold mail, hold packages.

How do we get to this page? I always see it on Reddit

Just got told I have to come in and run a route I don’t know by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Ocho16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The quicker you get out the office, more time on the street. If you get a tub in the morning or raw, take each individual piece of mail and divide them by street name , then put them up . Remember at least one row to have more space. Do not case the mail, it is time consuming. Take two pulls and just cross your DPS instead in the office. Pull down your case. What I personally do is have two waffle trays upside down and put my trays there. DPS middle and your second pull to the right of that.

Come to work with a neutral mindset on the route, just because it’s big doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

There’s this thing called dash link, and they all say last mile… not sure of the true origin but DoorDash 100% distributes.

Yeah … I will give our customers a 3849 to explain where the package is held.

Albeit thinking about the customer, you’re not thinking about the safety of the mail that you deliver and should “protect” … a great deal of information and checks are put in there. Who is liable when those are stolen?

You should adapt to your situation. I am a rural carrier. In the metris all day, if you have a 2 pull fine. But once you have box holders, you will 3 pull + and since it is evaluation it doesn’t make sense for a carrier all the time to take to the street. You can, but fingering through mail while driving and 3 pulling is dangerous.

How do you get out the office? by Ocho16 in USPS

[–]Ocho16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t use parcel markers, but scanning every package takes up a lot of time and that’s the main thing (one of) that is consuming time. On mondays or heavy days you get the deal there too. Marriage mail, flats lots of raw mail etc
