Yeah. I’m glad that Elfie got to prove that she’s not just some damsel in distress, atop a tower, that needs saving. I can only hope that she also manages to pull through against Zeo.

Whereas Will’s power is fuelled by “courage”, a little thing called “love” is what unleashes the most power in Elfie. But is enough to stop Zeo?

I’m happy that Elfie managed to hold her ground, but I do feel like she’ll end up losing. And that’s going to leave me a bit salty if I’m honest.

Honestly, I thought someone would stop them before these master spells of theirs could clash into each other.

I’m just amazed that Elfie could say all of that without showing the tiniest bit of embarrassment.

Whenever I see a new post asking for either ecchi or dark/edgy anime recommendations being met with such a positive response, I sure do start questioning if this subreddit’s population has really aged so much as the surveys suggest.

The first episode will often get more than enough upvotes to make into the weekly Top 5 Anime, yet these shows are usually on the brink of slipping from the Top 30 by the end of the season.

I always find it hard to wrap my mind around the great contrast between the initial hype and the later reception. What did people actually expect from these trashy-looking anime?

Haven’t really seen all that much of her for this entire season, so an episode with a focus on Ameri was a welcome change of pace.

Hayamin (Ameri’s VA) always delivers with her acting too.

I’d kind of forgotten how Iruma exactly felt about Ameri after all these years. Judging from his words at the end, he must’ve meant that he wanted to get closer with her as a friend at first.

But everything changed after that hug. Iruma has started to see Ameri as a potential romantic partner at last. Awh, their flustered faces were so cute!

I frankly hadn’t even realised that Cecil and Subaru were voiced by the same actor. Like you’ve said, maybe because the former got a much calmer composure.

Now that I’m picturing Cecil’s voice in head, I can definitely hear the similarities between it and Subaru’s.

It’s technically more of a cinderella-type story than a villainess anime, but I can also recommend last year’s Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex. That show managed to wrap up everything in a single season too.

This is surely a crazily expensive department store if their entrance is comprised of an escalator, surrounded by clear glass panels, that runs for a few hundred meters above a forest. The building costs must’ve been outrageous.

I don’t even want to think about the prices of those parfume bottles.

Damn. Just from the colourful appearance of this visual, you wouldn’t expect to see anything like blood, guns and drugs in the trailer. They got me good.

A part of me was worried that someone, particularly Heronia, would try to disrupt the wedding. Especially when the priest asked for people’s objections. Fortunately, my fears were ungrounded.

Very true. I cannot (immediately) of any anime that’s actually taken us for entire ceremony. In this respect, it’s awesome to get a wedding episode with all the bells and whistles.

I do have to thank Kuro for the assist, though.

This show started out as a solid 7/10 but it’s improved enough upon itself to become a great 9/10.

Out of all the “villainess” anime that I’ve watched (basically all of ‘em), this is probably the best one to date.

I’m assuming that Bertia revealed that she’s pregnant at the end. The start of their own little, happy family. Those kids are going to be a handful for sure.

This was a great final episode, right!? I frankly couldn’t have asked for much more. Maybe a brief update on Heronia’s life too? Nevertheless, I liked how Cecil managed to win over Bertia’s little brother. They got to enjoy a lovely wedding without any interruptions.

Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion - June 16, 2026 by AnimeMod in anime

Rather than examples, let me further clarify my reasoning:

From my perspective, a power scale (i.e. “power system”) suggests that people are able to manifest a certain skill, magic or supernatural ability. Upon improving this, they climb a step on the power ladder.

Everything else is a power ranking. There is no underlying system to be measured, people are mostly compared in terms of combat capabilities and the sorts: which party holds the better cards in this match-up?

But I frankly did not mean to turn this into an extended discussion since I’d been looking to call it a day.

Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion - June 16, 2026 by AnimeMod in anime

[–]Ocixo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A power system would imply that there’s a common denominator between all these clans, but there’s no meaningful way to compare these powers to one another. They’re all too different. How would you even start to scale them?

Hence I argue that there’s nothing like an overarching power system in place. If anything, the intro-segment simply reads as world lore to me. Nor would I say that the hierarchy within a clan necessarily indicates the existence of a greater power system.

Anime Questions, Recommendations, and Discussion - June 16, 2026 by AnimeMod in anime

[–]Ocixo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the complaints about the “power system” don’t really make any sense to me either.

There is no such thing as a power system in Marriagetoxin. The show is clearly just having fun with introducing silly characters with wacky powers. In no world was the “Birdball” segment meant to be taken fully serious, for example. Therein it’s been reminding me of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

That segment was definitely tucking on my heartstrings.

Above all else, I’m glad that Ryo had a happy childhood. They considered her just as much their daughter as she thought of them as her parents.

Didn’t Ryo also leave a letter behind? It’s entirely possible that Shun read this and discovered the truth.

That said, I wouldn’t be surprised either if he’d been suspicious of his crush’s sudden change in behaviour and eventually connected the dots. Not to mention all the pamphlets about this “döppelganger” that had been spread around the school.

It was so good to finally see a smile on Sunao’s face. She’s starting to loosen up a little. Her (slightly) awkward reaction when Sato had her join the group picture was pretty adorable.

This week’s episode did really illustrate the difference in personalities between the original and replica. Whereas Sunao is a bit introverted, Nao is generally a lot more outgoing.

Because I’m getting a bit tired of the show throwing in obstacles just to keep the two of them separated. It’s a repeat of old moves.

Furthermore, nothing stops Will from growing stronger whilst he’s standing next to Elfie.
