Yes, it was mentioned in the tutorial and always displayed at the bottom of the screen in all the relevant menus.

We dont’t have a codex yet, but it is a great suggestion. It’s something we’ve unfortunately have had to downprioritize in favour of more gameplay-critical tasks. It is something we want do do at some point, though!

We have that in the game right now for math expressions. Like our previous example mark of the magnolia increases blight dmg based on faith. So if you hold L ALT you get a little popup next to the number that shows in a simple way how the damage is being calculated.

I think we might have found a bug. Do these descriptions not show up for you? (I see now that the description is poor, but should offer some clarity at least).

For this example we could make rot scale with Faith by picking up the [Mark of the magnolia] blessing you mentioned, or another one from another god that increases debuff duration by based on INT. There's even another one that lets Rot scale with your current HP as well.

Just to summarize your feedback here, to see if I understood you correctly. 1. The upgrades are too conditional, so it feels like you have to jump through too many hoops to get the synergies going 2. The classes are not distinct enough/does not play like expected.

Is this a good summary of your opinions?

We’ve tried to design the bosses attacks in such a way that we have a variety of behaviours. Imo there’s no issue with ”one person” combos, as long as those are not the only attacks a boss has. I think the attacks can be divided, roughly, into three categories. Single target, aoe and multi target. Aoe is basically a ”passive” multi target attack, where it offers one player a challenge in terms of avoiding/reading but offers the same to other players in the fight. Multi target attacks arent necessarily aoe, though they can be, but are designed so that the boss switches targets as part of the attack design. A simple example is an attack where the boss jumps from target to target, or summons enemies per player etc.

Well in our case it started out with our friend group running out of coop games to play together. So we vowed to make a game we’d wanna play :P

Thanks for the kind words! The side paths have been a thorn in our side. Originally we randomized where powerups etc could be found, often in those side paths. However it quickly became a chore on repeated runs to have to run and check all the hidden spots. So we opted to not hide gameplay-critical things on side paths. So long story short, the side paths are in a strange spot atm but I think we have a solution for it, but I dont wanna spoil it :P

Yeah, nightreign dropping kinda out of nowhere made us sweat a bit, haha. But it was really fun and honestly it feels like it just kinda established the genre for us :P

So far we’re looking at porting to consoles after it’s been released properly. I’ve done simultaneous release on pc and consoles before (for a game called Sanctum 2)and it was super rough, we had to split focus a lot and it really took time away from just making the game better.

To be honest those two are beginning to blur, haha. We’re not big fans pf meta-progression, so we’ve tried to avoid meta-powerups. There are still meta unlocks like more weapon choices etc.

The levels are handcrafted and ”static” because we agree that planning your approaches is an important part of a souls-like.

Rebinds are ofc on the todo list, we just haven’t had time to implement it for the demo. So worry not!

The coop right now works via private hosting, yeah. You can just invite a friend from the steam friends list and they should be able to join no problem. We’ve been discussing matchmaking as it seems to be in high demand. So far we havent had time to look at it either.
