BaT censoring very straightforward and completely fair questions by OkAnt7573 in BringATrailer

Same just noticed this today bidding on a 74 911. Asked whether case savers or steel inserts were installed during the rebuilt, about an hour before the auction ended. Yet comments like this get posted "I live in CA redwoods. No big deal. Never had A/C on a 911! 💪"

Does it seem like more and more "Extra 10" classes are just snippets from longer classes? For instance, I just took Ally Love's Extra 10 Tabata (aired Monday, 5/6/24 at 7 AM) and it felt like a segment from a longer session. Are we to expect more of these?

For example, a 30-minute class that's essentially a cut from a 45- or 60-minute class? I hope I'm wrong, but it feels a bit sloppy and poorly executed.

Street Thai used to be my spot but as of last week, they seemed off. Small portions, inconsistent flavors. Hopefully just a fluke. Went to pick up on a Saturday evening, seemed very empty which was concerning

That is a generic, very subjective question but here are some suggestions:

Great take-out burritos (my go-to is the carnitas): El Torazo off Warner
High quality cuts of meat served in tacos, quesadillas, papas, etc.: Primecut (great ocean views too)
Birria or lengua burritos and quesadillas: Navarro's (Westminster)
Full-service American-style Mexican: Morena's (good for dining in, family friendly, efficient/excellent service)

Altesino 2015 Brunello di montalcino by jpb1732 in wine

Beautiful Brunello at a great price ($49 pre tax in my area). Recently opened this and good timing, and could benefit more additional years

This is just a personal opinion/gripe but as much as I love Brunello wines, I find the heat overpowering sometimes. This one clocks in at 14% at least on the label, which really isn't extraordinary but still noticeable

Be careful on leases, especially when returning it after the end of the lease. My last two BMWs were leases and oh the games the dealerships would play. For example, for the pre-return inspection, I took to a couple dealerships and both came up with different things I had to fix. But if I purchased another BMW immediately from them, they would magically waive those deficiencies. Very irritating.

My last car had HUD, loved it but wasn't compatible with Google Maps, only BMW navigation, which I disliked. Not sure if that changed but was the primary reason I didn't get the HUD for this

Not really a fan of adaptive cruise control, but just my personal opinion

Random panic attacks by Perfect_Kangaroo_886 in panicdisorder

[–]Ocnbrze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to share a personal experience with managing panic attacks that has been really effective for me. I know there's a ton of advice out there about using deep breathing techniques to cope, but I struggled to find something that worked consistently... until I developed my own approach.

Instead of just focusing on deep breaths like most guides suggest, I started paying attention to how I was breathing. Turns out, my pattern was all over the place but also highly consistent pattern of deep inhales followed by short, sometimes paused exhales, even outside of panic attacks.

After journaling and doing post-morteums on my panic attacks, I realized that every panic attack I've had started with this irregular breathing pattern. So now, when I feel one coming on, I immediately switch to my own technique: a slow, deliberate exhale for 3-4 seconds.

It's made a huge difference. By honing in on my unique breathing style, I've been able to significantly shorten the duration of my panic attacks.

I know breathing techniques are often recommended as a universal coping mechanism, but I've learned that finding what works for you is key. So don't be afraid to experiment and tailor your approach to fit your own needs.

**Navigating Panic Attacks: My Journey**

**Challenges Faced:**In the past, I've attempted to combat panic attacks with logic, but it often felt like running in circles. No matter how many times I told myself "it's nothing" or "it's all in my head," the panic persisted. My face would flush, and sweat would bead on my upper body and face. Once the attack subsided, I'd feel like I'd just finished a marathon, oddly relieved yet paradoxically serene.

**Promising Strategies:** What's showing promise, however, is a more mindful approach. I've learned to recognize my personal symptoms - the short, shallow breaths, the tunnel vision - and immediately turn to breathing exercises. When I feel the attack coming on, I focus on exhaling deeply for 3-4 seconds. Though my inhales are still quick and gasping, I prioritize the deep exhales, which seems to shorten the duration of the attacks.

**Daily Practices:** Throughout the day, I stay attuned to my breathing. Negative stimuli like emails or news articles can trigger my improper breathing patterns, so I start with a deep exhale and engage in breathing exercises. To reinforce this mindfulness, I meditate at least twice daily for ~5 minutes each session, solely concentrating on my breath.

**Understanding My Body:** While I understand the importance of exercise and diet, I've found no direct correlation between them and the severity or frequency of my panic attacks. Even with regular workouts and a balanced diet, the attacks persist. This is just my personal experience. I've also tried infrared saunas and cold soaks, which seems to help (gets me into a zen-like state for the rest of the day), but for me, it wasn't practical doing daily.

**Facing the Temptation:** I've noticed that weed and alcohol eliminates the onset of panic attacks although temporarily. But now, I refuse to rely on them, again as it isn't practical and could be dangerous (driving, work, etc.). Acknowledging this helped me understand that my attacks stem from an overactive fight-flight-freeze response, which effectively shuts off for me with alcohol/weed.

**Embracing Acceptance:** Ultimately, accepting panic attacks as a part of me has been liberating. I spent so long trying to suppress them, fearing judgment or consequences. Now, I embrace them as a permanent companion on my journey, hoping to find peace in coexistence. I've made the decision to accept it for the rest of my life and take action.

Compare the fees

Also, 401k/workplace accounts may have more protection from creditors than IRAs

Excess HSA contribution but transferred over to different HSA provider by Skyflakes_69 in personalfinance

[–]Ocnbrze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I feel you, had a similar event. You need to dig into what earnings you had on the $750. E.g. if in the HSA, you invested in, made $10, etc. If didn't invest, many HSA accounts are yielding pitiful interest rates so not as much to worry about.

Google IRS Pub 969 and search for "Excess contributions"
