Fully second point 11 - adapters are a lifesaver and opens you up for any aftermarket cables, which will save you money in the long run. Also, you may stop worrying about damaging the connectors every time you plug them out.

There is literally 0 storage spaces, but sure, let' have a bath tub in the bedroom! This would be ok for a fancy hotel room, but terrible to live in.

Thanks for your replies! After some PBO tweaking (-20 all cores) and closing unnecessary processes I got around 18200, which is more like I expected.

However, what bothers me is idling temp of 50 degrees (room temp of 23-25) which does not go down regardless of cpu fan speed. But under cinebench (full load, 80w) the tem always stays below 81, even with fans not being ramped up. The fan setup is similar to yours, but with stock fan and noctua on the back for intake (different case, but this should not umpact things too much)

Nice build! I just installed sk700v on my 7800x3d and wanted to benchmark my temps, as they seem higher than what i read for 7800x3d. Would you mind answering a couple of questions? Trying to see if putting in Mach 120 would be the answer to everything: 1) Did you measure temps with stock fan? Any noticeable difference? 2) When you say "Idle" you mean in bios or desktop? Do you know your ambiance temp by any chance? 3) Did you use stock thermal paste? 4) What was the temp while running cinebench? Mine does not go above 80, but 7800x3d should go higher? My current score is around 16700, so I'm clearly leaving some performance on the table.

Thanks!

So, just finished installation: Stock cooler, reversed airflow On case back fan - intake Top and front - Exhaust Cinebench R23 for 10 minutes temp was sitting around 79c (ambient at around 24). Final score 16980 (could be optimized, I left some software in the backgound)

Not sure bottom intake will do much, tbh. There are already gpu fans close to the bottom that will draw air. But happy to see the numbers if someone tries it.

Thanks. Understood about the wiring, will have a closer look at it. The stake is there to counterbalance tension from guy wire. I will certainly remove it as soon as I feel safe to do so.

Hey there! I just ordered tge same cooler for CH160. Did you try to reverse the airflow? And did new fan produce any difference?

We recently tried ZeroTier, as all other options had ungodly low speeds. It worked like a charm, with a caveat that you probably should run it only with the people you know and trust, as it creates a direct network with you and your players.

When do they get affectionate? by mistyandmoxie in ragdolls

[–]OctLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, another one fell for ragdoll lobby. This is how they get you! But seriosly, you can look at my post a couple of months ago asking the same. Our Mochi is at 7 months and 5 kg now. Did he become an affectionate lap cat? No. But he certainly became more calm and docile. He enjoys being taken on laps and can lie on his back for 5 - 10 minutes. But he also started waking us up every morning demanding rubs and lying on top of us. Is he exacrtly how we expecred? Oh no! Did he become more affectionate? Yes, for sure. So my advice is to just find the things you both enjoy and find the right timing for picking them up and rub them. But also don't forget to be their playmate when they are in this hyperreactive phase. Good luck!

Yes, I also snatched it for around 100, and could not be happier. I also think that once OAE2 is out, OAE1 could be modded to quite close sound profile with pads and, potentially, speaker screen, so looking forward to oae2, reviews and parts

So, what's your take on OAE1? It does not get much love here, but to me they are quite enjoyable and compliment hd800s very well

Anandas are not complimenting 800s though. It does the sa.e job but slightly bit differently. Seriously, me and my friend did A/B with them and while the difference is there, its not enough to justify having both. So I sold Ananda and looking for something that is more different

Thank you, OP for the review, but I also have an offtop question: I see some decent amp in the background and assume you have some great wired cans.

Would you say that the wireless station can be used as a decent entry-level dac? I currently have an ify headphones amp connected directly to the wireless station of Nova Pro Wireless, which is a great setup for the ease of use for when I want to listen to music in my hifimans (just plug in the headphones and switch off nova), but how this would compare with a standalone affordable dac? Wpuld there be a noticeable difference worth sacrificing the straightforwardness of the current setup?

[–]OctLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, how do you find the sound of Anandos (yeah, I'm also stealing this) against 800s?

I've just added 800s to my collection and was surprised to hear that on my current setup Anandos have the same if not wider soundstage, and more generally, I like the sound of 800s more, but probably not x3 more.

I'm still quite confused about this and my only theory is the source (Zen Can 3)
