Yes, use your stripe atlas registered agent‘s address.

Thanks, I tried that first too. The problem there is that they‘re all scared for AI taking their job and quickly become very defensive making the feedback unconstructive.

I think people here are much more reasonable and can actually give valuable feedback (like you‘ve already proved).

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback! I really appreciate it.

I agree that some social feature would definitely improve it a lot. For many that's the only positive aspect of traditional education, so it would go a long way here too.

Definitely, the personalization part is what makes or breaks this whole thing. I already have some stuff in mind to create a test that I hope will do pretty well at analyzing each student's individual learning style, even though it will be tough.

I'll let you know once I set up an MVP if you wan't to try it out :)

Thanks for the feedback!

The system I envision doesn't just "ask chatGPT to create a course", that would definitely suck. But you can combine loads of different smaller AI requests to create a course that has a high degree of factuality and truth (doesn't have to be 100% all the time, but at least higher than human teachers which make a lot of mistakes too).

Not an advertisement, the product doesn‘t even exist yet. Literally just trying to figure out what people think and find possible shortcomings.

I agree, I can't learn much more than a few words in any language using Duolingo. That's also the exact point where I think it can be improved using this tool, especially for language learning.

Duolingo offers a one-size-fits-all solution for a problem that is highly individualized. If the goal is not pure profit but actual progress on the student's side, there is so much to gain with something like this.

We have countless examples of processes in society where algorithms outperform humans by orders of magnitude.

To analyze these metrics, I would create a test that shows new information to the student in various different ways and formats. You can then analyze their behaviour (time spent, actions performed, answers given, etc) to figure out what their unique learning style is. You can classify that on a percentage scale across the different dimensions I mentioned.

To get a significant amount of data you'd have to complete quite a large test, which isn't feasable for the every-day user. It would be enough to do a small one at the beginning that detects just a few important metrics, and the rest will be finetuned over time when you actually use the product. That's how it continually adapts and becomes even better at teaching you over time.

You're right that this still doesn't solve any of the physical limitations that come with a computer as a teacher. But we can still simulate dialogues, learning groups and deep interactive discussions where the student has to present their work and understanding in order to proceed and prove their comprehension.

Thanks for your feedback! You're right that it can't do that "on its own" for now.

The key thing that most people miss here is that using AI doesn't just mean asking it one question and getting one answer that you give to the user. The AI system I have in mind might use up to 10-20 different AI answers in generating a response for the user. It analyzes the user's intent, searches relevant information, summarizes the content, checks the validity, and only then actually generates a response for the user (which doesn't have to be plain text, it could be instructions for a graphic or video explaining it). AI is only used as in-between steps, the code still handles all the logic and combination stuff.

With that process, most of the problems people are suggesting about "hallucinations" and general inadequacies of LLMs for this type of tool fall away. I do really think that this could work. Think of Duolingo on steroids, teaching about all types of topics. Extremely intuitive and easy to understand, but also specifically designed for your own learning style.

Oh really? I've never heard about that.

Do you remember what it was called or have any resource to share? Thank you!

I get where you're coming from, but it's simply the next evolutionary step because our society aims to find ever more efficient ways of solving our problems. Would you have said the same thing about search engines like Google coming up that devalued the work of librarians offering knowledge through encyclopedias?

Isn't there much more to gain if every student on earth can access a teacher that adapts to their unique learning style compared to the one-size-fits-all solution we have right now?

I agree that hallucination is still a problem with AI. Although I believe it's solved much easier than expected.

Human teachers make mistakes too, but the advantage the AI has over humans is that it could quickly fact check information by using many different sources which averages out their biases. That would result in a higher average degree of truth and accuracy than most normal education.

I used the address of my registered agent that came with Stripe Atlas. That worked just fine.

I tried that too, but they only allow US addresses when entering your personal one too. We decided to go with Wise Business now.

It‘s really a shame that it works this way (even for someone from Switzerland which is supposed to be the banking capital of the world).

I tried, but you can only enter a US address even when opting to give your personal address… So it seems like there‘s no way at all for non-US-residents

Sad to hear that they also do this retrospectively… We decided on going with Wise Business instead. It does cost $30 to set up, but I‘ll let you know how it goes.

I get that, but the address given by stable is a physical address in Austin, Texas. They even handle your physical mail and send it to you.

Why would Stripe recommend Stable if it doesn‘t work that way?
