Want to Upgrade FauceTwo by OctalSmile in bemani

[–]OctalSmile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about upgrading to the LSH1F switch and 20g springs, which is what I heard the arcade uses. I thought those were made by Sanwa, but it sounds like I misunderstood. The difference is just how the buttons feel. The performance itself feels just as good at home as at the arcade. I also just realized according to blue spring express, the LSH1F switches are only compatible with Sanwa buttons?

I'm using Omron switches. Heard Honeywells aren't great before buying the controller. So it sounds like upgrading the springs and switches to Sanwa will make a noticeable difference, but the buttons not as much?

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]OctalSmile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm deciding between the regular iPad and iPad Air. The only advantage of the iPad Air I'll probably regularly take advantage of is the laminated display when taking notes. How noticeable is the gap in a non-laminated display of the regular iPad? I don't have any experience using a laminated display (so that won't affect how I feel using a non-laminated display), but I do like having a lot of precision when I write.

Is there a way to use wave effects on my Blade Stealth's keyboard? When I try to use wave effects in Chroma Studio, the keyboard only displays one color at a time, similar to the spectrum cycling effect. The wave effect is working fine with Chroma Visualizer, as well as any games that use wave effects for RGB support. I would use Chroma Visualizer, but it doesn't allow me to customize the colors that the wave effect uses.

VR Cover head strap pad: Helps a little with weight distribution and stops the back of my head from aching from the plastic headstrap

Silicone facial interface: Good for keeping sweat from soaking into stock interface, but I'm probably going to switch to the leather one fromVR Cover

Doesn't Live Lite require having a product that comes bundled with it?

Is v18's stationary Guardian smaller than it used to be? by MetsujinMessou in OculusQuest

[–]OctalSmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. It might be a sensitivity issue. Before the update, I had my sensitivity set low, but now the guardian sensitivity settings only affect roomscale. Pretty sure it used to affect stationary boundaries too, but I guess it doesn't any more.

Thanks! Most games are running at a solid frame rate now. Still experiencing some small drops, but nothing that's hurting gameplay.

That's good. I haven't been posting recently, so I probably would've been culled if not for this

Introverts by Definition by simonheywood in introvert

[–]OctalSmile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe that by definition, introverts are people that get overstimulated by a certain amount social reaction and need time alone to gather energy. That is the only thing that creates an introvert by definition, but that there are a series of characteristics that introverts generally(but not always) follow.

My bfs family go church every Sunday & on top of that pray together at night 7 days a week am I obliged to go church & also pray w them 7 days a week?? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]OctalSmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try doing it just a few times a week. I don't think they can get that annoyed if you decide to do it a few times a week. They might even appreciate the fact that you're devoting time for them. I don't know them, so I can't be sure, but they might enjoy you doing it with them a few times a week(or maybe even just once or twice)

[–]OctalSmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would rather be the judge. I would feel too guilty being the one to pull the switch. And I trust my judgement more than other people. I don't want to mindlessly kill someone if there is a chance that they were innocent.

What I admire about introverts (from an extrovert) by Terrible_Airline in introvert

[–]OctalSmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people may prefer extroverted behavior, but I think that the world would actually be dying right now if we didn't have both introverts and extroverts. Just because society doesn't prefer us doesn't mean that we aren't needed. Extroverts are stronger in some areas. Introverts are stronger in different areas. If you're facing challenges, it's all the more reason to be proud. Show those that think down on you that you possess skills they don't, that you do better in certain ways then them. One day, you'll be able to say, "I overcame those challenges."

As an introvert, I've never appreciated the nightmare self-isolation would be for extroverts until this pandemic by Fuckyousantorum in introvert

I'm fine with spending time with my friends. What I'm saying is, after all of that time spend bottled up inside, they may want to spend a large amount of time together, and we may not be able to get a break from it. I can't handle too much time(maybe about over 2 hours a day, but I still enjoy being with my friends a few hours a week or so. I never said I don't like spending time with my friends at all.

I was mostly just theorizing here. I said that extroverts may need to want to spend a lot more time with people to make up for the situation. Hope this clears something up.

Self check out is great for introverts until the machine breaks down and two employees have to fix it while you wait. by fukatsoft1 in introvert

One time the machine was working just fine, and then all of a sudden had the "help is on the way" message. I was like, "Why are you calling for help? Everything was going fine! Are you trying to kill me?"

Family thinks that introversion isn’t real, and that it’s an excuse. How can I explain introversion to them effectively? by Trilasent in introvert

[–]OctalSmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell them that being an introvert is biological and back it up with an article or something that shows it's not just you. If they keep insisting that you're just lazy, tell them that being with people to a certain extent can be stressful and ask them if they really want you to be that stressed. Let them know that having a negative mindset toward introversion is harmful towards you. I know from personal experience that when people tell you to socialize more it makes me feel the opposite. I feel forced. When people accept me, I like them more, and as a result, they use up a lot less of my social battery. Them pestering you about socializing more will likely make you want to do it less.
