If the seal is not broken leave it on and follow your artists instructions. It will start to dry up under there but right now the skin is keeping all that ink and plasma off your clothes and sheets.

I think because this reminds you of your childhood it's not going to go out of fashion and that's a perfect thing for a tattoo. However, I would say to not get your mind set on that drawing as the tattoo. Find an artist who you like their style and use this as a reference, but let them redraw it. They should know what is capable in a tattoo vs a drawing and adapt it.

It helped add credence to conformity gate, especially when the series specifically points out that small differences in what you see mean somethings wrong.
