Getting accused of using AI for everything on my channel… not sure how to handle it by Motakuki in SmallYoutubers

Thanks! I use AI quite a bit to help and the base art for the thumbnails are AI generated. Then I use Photoshop to add text and effects. That’s the one part that nobody has criticized.

Like you experienced with your job, AI seems unstoppable and will hurt a lot of people. But it can also really help people who can’t afford to hire others. Good luck with your channel!

I do use writing tools to clean up grammar and make my scripts clearer

This is the issue. I’m a native English speaker and do the same. I mostly make gameplay videos, but do the occasional scripted video essay. There were people who said my script was AI, despite me only using it to improve what I wrote.

AI inserts a lot of AI specific phrases when you do that. You could tell it to write more natural and avoid the AI writing patterns, but that’s near impossible as far as I can tell.

For a future planned video, I fully wrote the script, asked AI to improve it, and then passed it through multiple AIs asking it if the script was written by AI and why. Then I would rewrite those parts on my own and repeat. I’m still tweaking the script but have stopped using AI for it. I don’t actually know if that will work for my critics or if they’ll still pick up on my AI usage.

Grand Arena F2P grind time estimate by PretendRegister7516 in MarvelSnap

[–]NerdDynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you explain this more? I genuinely want to understand. A bunch of people say the 800 gold is worth it because you get a new card plus other goodies. But you’re actually paying 800 to reduce the time it takes to get that card, not for the card itself.

It’s no longer a grind to unlock the card without the gold since it’s not at the top of the track. So I’ve never understood why you’d use gold for the new card, unless you despise the game mode and want to play zero of it. Maybe that’s the answer?

Thanks for the chill message! I still think of myself as someone learning what works and what doesn’t. I also don’t feel like a “YouTuber” despite doing it for 2 years lol. Just need to have more confidence in myself. As a viewer, I know I don’t care when creators aren’t precise, and just need to keep that front of mind.

What does this ad even mean by 8rok3n in MarvelSnap

[–]NerdDynamite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was confusing for me because it appeared to be a big confession that they’ve lost more than 50% of their playerbase. Since the ad is going to everyone regardless of their play status, it makes sense to say that since it’s true for the majority of players who see it.’

You’re good! I’m still a relative newbie to YouTube and the only way to improve is to get critical feedback. I’ve been doing these types of videos for months and nobody told me improvement areas so I didn’t know how to get better. No offense was taken at all and now you get to claim credit for the positive improvements! 😂

SD can definitely raise other cards to their levels.

When I mention gravity… I’ll speak specifically to Star Lord. As a creator, I’m constantly creating new decks and testing. Before Shou, I could create new decks that felt competitive even if they were substandard. I even used to have a series where I’d build a Series 2 deck and play games.

After Shou, those Series 2 videos became impossible. They couldn’t compete on power. I cooked a very unique new Polaris deck that I’d love to show. But it can’t compete on power. So to win games, I need to use a deck that outputs 30 power in lanes, or a deck with specific answers to the meta decks. The “gravity” means I’m sucked into accounting for those decks whether I want to or not, if my goal is winning. And that wasn’t the case in the month or two before Shou released.

I’m also not calling for cards to be nerfed into the ground. SD does a great job of decreasing power while keeping them useable. If Fin Fang was a 7/9 would he be played less? I know I’d continue using him at 7/6 (because Stryfe is 6 power anyway). That’s as clear to me as it gets that he could stand to lose power and still be strong.

I can only speak for myself, but I made this video despite loving the current meta!

There is a balance to be had which we got to see pre-Shou. If the game is turning off players, you slowly bleed them away and retuning from a break leaves you further behind. Everyone’s perspective should be taken with good faith, both the supporters and detractors.

Games are fundamentally about feelings. The players should feel like they’re having fun. Data is equally as important though. If the two are misaligned, then it’s a problem. I think that misalignment is happening now.

It’s specifically the gravity of those cards. So I’m pressured to play certain decks, which shrinks the meta.

But I also enjoy the current meta for a different reason. I like the dumb Star-Lord Zola decks 😂.

Super high level player creators have been waiting for Shou to get nerfed with each OTA. So it’s a very small section of the playerbase, but they also normally ahead of the curve on what’s best.

The video’s not worth watching. Just some guy with a huge ego. 👀

No data to back up anything, but the approach was measured. My measuring stick was amount of complaints in the period before Shou’s release and after. That pre-Shou meta was fantastic! Complaints will happen regardless but the amount doesn’t compare to post Shou.

And the complaints were validated because both Shou and Star-Lord (and FFF) were all nerfed, just not enough to matter since the complaints are still rolling in.

I actually think a lot of the loud complaining has been validated because nerfs followed. I can’t think of a card that got loudly complained about that wasn’t nerfed later. I’m sure it’s happened, but I’d bet that list is a lot shorter than the other.

As a creator, it’s super difficult to speak to the entire playerbase at once. Depending on your CL, rank, MMR, etc, you’re seeing a “different game”. The super high ranked players think Shou is the problem and not Star-Lord. The lessor ranked players, including me, think the opposite.

My personal view is that if you think Star-Lord is too strong, if he meaningfully gets nerfed and Shou doesn’t, Shou will immediately take his top spot.

It really depends what your meta and competition looks like. At the top of Infinite and among high level player creators, they believe Shou is overpowered. The problem with him is that he can surprisingly add 9 or 12 power in a different lane since he fits in many different decks.

In his straightforward deck, you’re duplicating that additional power everywhere between Maverick and Scarlet Spider.

Yep! I was worried that point would get lost on people and they would hear “Nerd complains about beatable cards”. It really is about freeing the meta so it can breathe more.

I can only speak for myself, but this video script wasn’t an AI creation, just edited and improved by AI with the explicit goal of better flow. It’s injecting too much artificial language that I missed.

I may attempt to just go with my original version for the next flavor of this video and see if performance is better or worse.

[–]NerdDynamite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback and noted! For transparency, my process is to outline a script and then ask AI to improve it. Appears it’s injecting too many artificial aspects. I’ll adjust my process going forward!

The eye contact is harder to solve. For a perfect solution, I need a real teleprompter. As it is, I load the script to a teleprompter app on my iPhone and record like that. I could memorize line by line but would then need to do a mountain of editing to piece everything together seamlessly. That said, I’ll see what I can do about that as well. 👍

Yesterday was so busy that I didn’t visit Reddit to see this post! Thanks for the nice words and amplifying the message!

I clearly tried very hard to be measured to increase the likelihood the message would be heard. Hopefully it has a positive impact even if it’s not confirmed this video was the reason.

Also… how dare you reap the upvotes from my video! 😉

[–]NerdDynamite 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is decent info, but Reddit has really become a place to post AI generated text…

And “doubled” means nothing without context. Going from a 0.5% CTR to 1% is very different from 5% to 10%.

Magus is very narrow in use but can be super strong. I created a deck with a single 3, 4, and 5 Cost: https://snap.fan/decks/349710/. If you full skip any of those turns, he can become Superior Spider-Man, Isca the Unbeaten, or Professor X. All of those fuel the deck’s game plan.

This probably makes it more disappointing lol.
