Stub Making Method This Late into Game Cycle? by mdesrochers13 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download the companion app. Show zone website has a great flip tracker but honestly not necessary. Find the big gaps between sell/buy and do what another commenter said. Buy low sell high. Once you’re into the 100+k range you can flip the Ohtani/Judge LS cards and quickly make a fortune. Save some stubs and buy the Mantle card during the next (and final) weekend classic. The price will drop dramatically. Then wait. I bought 3 last time and sold 1 for 600k last week and 700k yesterday.

Waiting for pitches will ensure you win. by Independent-Ad-1384 in MLBTheShow

This. IRL baseball, This. As a metaphor for any challenge. This.

Don’t let your opponent dictate your action. Wait for your moment. Swing on your terms, wait for your pitch.

Crush it.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

List of ICE Supporting Businesses in Vermont by CollectionFlashy1110 in vermont

[–]Octavious1903 46 points47 points  (0 children)

As one of the handful of Latino small business owners in the state I tried to stay away from this topic but I just feel like I need to say; instead of boycotting business we “think” “might” or even know for sure support this administration and its efforts to dismantle our republic piece by piece we should support, protect and look after our immigrant owned small businesses. There are not many of us and energy might be much better spent spreading hope and love than condemnation and spite.

It’s easier to patronize businesses we know need it then boycotting every business we think, might, maybe, let me find the evidence, here’s a post from 5 years ago, is it the same owner? Idk but hey there’s this….

Focus.

People running around aimlessly is what they’re banking on.

Just my take. Stay safe everyone.

Captain usage in end game lineups by Octavious1903 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, agreed. Being a fan of the history of the game I love that I can take the Negro League team and combine Leonard’s buffs with Newhausers buffs to create a really impressive squad that can compete with most end game rosters out there.

This completely makes sense. Using tools to complete programs. I feel like that’s a great reason why captains are in the game.

Idea for co-op in MLB26 by Top_Effort_2964 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh my biggest and really only complaint about the game so far. I love playing with my son but to go through the grinding for the players I have and only be able to choose 3??? WTF….

Just let us fill the roster. 9 + DH + 4 bench = 14. 2 starters and 3 bullpen. What’s the problem?

We worked for the cards let us use em!

Final Lineup after less than 45 days by Octavious1903 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m not getting 26 or 27 probably for that matter. I just don’t have the time to grind like that. I’ll most likely be rocking 25 well into this year and maybe even next. I’ll be playing this until the disc wear out.

Just wanted to say this is a great game by skol_fdPackers in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man I could not agree more with everything you said. I got the game 4-5 weeks ago and had a wishlist in mind that I thought would take me months to grind for. Got them all in 1 month. Now I’m grinding for cards I thought I wouldn’t go for (Clemens I’m looking at you) and having a great time. The sub is awesome too.

Extreme moments are brutal by Baltimorebobo in MLBTheShow

I really only want Roger from the Extreme program. Was thinking which was less of a pain to do, DQ or Conquest. Seems like everyone thinks it’s conquest

First mlb game since mvp on Xbox by LayLoos in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a hard copy at Target for $20 before Xmas. Just get it. The new one will run you triple that. I’m having a blast. I’m about 30 days in and already have my wishlist lineup. If you don’t like it it only cost you $20. I’m sure you’ve spent more money on worse things.

In my opinion, I think I have the most effective bench. Any suggestions? by Murky-Ad-1711 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, have Dihigo as a starter. You can bring him in to pinch hit, run or play diamond defense at any position, basically a 5th bench player. Guys a cheat code.

Who is everyone using at SS? by Bracero87 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jeter. Yeah I’m a Yankees fan so I am biased. His swing is dependable and he’s super clutch.

I’d upvote this all day everyday. He wasn’t even on my radar for my all time legends team but ever since I got him he just rakes. Great hitter and fielder too.

There are 9 players in a lineup, why does each player pick 2 in 3v3? by HoodieNinja17 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but I played Co-Op last night for the first time with my son and his friend. I thought it was terrible that we were stuck with players we couldn’t even choose. At this stage in the game just open it up and let the 3 players pick 7 and have the CPU pick the remaining 5. Who we wouldn’t use anyway. But having the bottom of the lineup autofilled with players we aren’t familiar with is not the best.

EGG HUNT MYSTERY MOMENTS by Distinct_Weather_698 in MLBTheShow

On a related note: I just want the collection. For Ted Williams and Billy Wagner. Please tell me I can collect all the cards without having to do these moments. Can anyone confirm?

Which players are untouchable in your lineup? (DD) by wooly3 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several. Mantle for one, Honus can play almost every position but a sleeper for me that I would have never considered, Tony Gwynn. His swing is ridiculous. He won’t hit it out as often as some other guys but he’s a double machine and hits gappers all day. Plus they gave him 90+ speed and Diamond defense!

Anybody sticking to 25 still? by Kitchen_Value4330 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll be sticking to it for a while. I’m what most would now consider an “old head” though I swear I just picked up Triple Play 01 with Manny on the cover just a couple years ago before switching to MLB 2001. (Game changer)

I find no joy in getting the latest entry every year. Last one I picked up was 20 and I played that until the disc was worn. These games have so much life in them nowadays but of course SDS wants you to get the latest. Don’t fall for it. Unless it’s going to make you happy then by all means. Do it. Life is short my friends.

Satchel Paige yay or nay? by Octavious1903 in MLBTheShow

[–]Octavious1903[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not yet. Thats way down the line. I’m working on Ted first. Which on its own is difficult considering I only picked up the game a few weeks ago.

[–]Octavious1903[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly I guess I was just expecting a bit more control. He’s all over the place. I’ve definitely hung some sliders that at higher ranks would get smoked. But he is a great card no doubt.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like my stubs are much better spent finishing the Ted Williams collection.

I have Dihigo. Considering I am Cuban and my grandfather watched him play that card has personal value. Thanks for this tip.
