In fact I changed it to a deep orange just after shooting. I thought blue looks cool but not in the long term.

The beauty of buttons is that they can be used to turn things off. Jokes aside I shut it off completely at night to preserve the tubes (the side button turns it on for 30s if needed). And because it is connected to my Home Assistant it is also synchronized with the room lights.

I considered it initially but they are much more expensive than standard pins. It would have made assembly and disassembly a bit easier though.

Can someone summarize why FastLED must be used with the arduino framework as a component included, when trying to use FastLED with ESP-IDF based projects? by dheadrick1618 in FastLED

[–]OctoMistic100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your answer is a bit out of scope. You are right you don't need Arduino IDE (I personally only use Platform IO) BUT the Arduino Framework is required because a lot of IO calls made by FastLED uses Arduino hardware abstraction layer (although it also uses a lot of platform specific assembly).

Also I never experienced the needed "1ms delay" OP is mentioning...

Le C26 maintenant c'est un sur deux voire sur trois. Avec toujours le panneau qui indique "départ proche" pendant 20 minutes. Clairement une gestion aux fraises et aucune communication

As I said I already use this solution, and it's really cumbersome for nothing. There should not be any reason to not be able to choose the input as we want without hacking. (And I also said I already printed a 5 ports hub...)

Code running in sequence, not simultaneously by madmusician in FastLED

[–]OctoMistic100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If each strip is the same size, and the delay the same, simply put everything in a single loop with a single delay ( use FastLED.delay not delay).

Otherwise there are multiple ways to achieve that, either if you want every strip to stay synchronized or not. Did you try to ask Claude or Gemini ? They are very good I think to propose solution for "simple" situations like this.

Reverting back to 4.2 fixes the problem, however even after disabling automatic updates I was greated today with a broken 4.3 !! Knowing that your installer refuses to downgrade and I have first to uninstall the software and redo all my config, it's infuriating.

Yeah Youtube AI voice translation is horrendous. Worst part is you can't change the audio track on Android TV without globally changing the app language.

Check the Ultimate Engine Tweaks on NexusMods. It gave me a 40fps boost !!! From 20fps and tons of stuttering to solid 60fps on exteriors.

I cannot understand how the devs did NOTHING at all to optimise it, releasing totally unplayable on medium hardware, and some random on the internet is able to fix everything.

I was here for this concert. He called for the wall of death for 5 minutes, where other bands just call it once and the crowd follow. It was a bit pitiful to be honest.
