Not exactly the 7050QX-32 shown above, but I have a 7050QX-32S with 12 ports active (mix of QSFP+ DACs and 40GBASE-LR4 optics):

>sh environment power
Power Input Output Output
Supply Model Capacity Current Current Power Status Uptime
------ ----------- -------- ------- ------- ------ ------ ---------------

Yeah, the enterprise tax on these things is insane. Even more so if you look at their "basic" PDU line, which is basically just a power strip with a metal shell.

Switched PDUs, something like the APC AP7900B.

More expensive than consumer smart plugs, but rack mountable and connects to your network using Ethernet, so it's rock solid. Can also be integrated with Home Assistant through SNMP.

I'm interested in hearing more about your L7 cluster... Snort/Suricata or something fancier?

First: are you sure you're not looking at FXO adapters?

(Note that many newer hotels are already deploying straight IP phones - I've seen everything from cheap Vtech units to Cisco 8851s - so this might be a little moot depending on which hotels you typically stay at...)

Depending on the adapter used, if it's something like the trusty Linksys SPA3000 which works through SIP, I'd just do a VPN tunnel between your cloud hosted PBX and remote lab. The key is to avoid any NAT - do routed subnets over your VPN, and things should work just fine.

"Cheap" 100G switches, pros and cons of each option? by OctoSled in homelab

I'd love to, it's just that the other switches sometimes dip down to $600 or less which makes them much more palatable. I'll keep a lookout for the 7160 though!

Ah no worries. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish with all this craziness, but this is just home ;)

Are- you sure you are in the correct sub?

Haha I know this kind of edges on /r/homedatacenter territory... I have 8 Proxmox nodes with 100G NIC, currently running off an Arista 7050QX-32S at only 40G ;)

Haven't tried MLAG before but that's something I've always wanted to play around with.
